Well, you could pry them with a couple of large glasses of wine so they won't notice........or you could order Chinese! I'm sure it will be a good time either way!

Yup, she and her DH got here but we had so much fun we didn't eat dinner/supper until 8:30.

Bouncing of another thread...I sent DH to the store to get frozen meatballs to replace the burnt homemade ones. I wrote exactly what I wanted on a sticky note and stuck it to his shirt. Did he come home with those...no! He said they were all out. So CdL saw it as an opportunity to check out our grocery stores. Did we find the meatballs...yes, right where I told him they would be. It was fun and she event bought cuban bread and guava squares, neither of which she was familiar with so that was a bonus.

More later, right now I'm going to vote then I'm picking her up to hit a few stores and maybe swing by the resort to check on the Nak'd Truth auditions (just kidding).

Brief update:

We went to a furniture consignment store and a thrift store, we both like that kind of shopping. Then on to lunch; we went to a neighborhood Cuban restaurant in North Tampa (meaning far enough from Boliche Boulevard to be a little less than primo but still good). I ordered for us because CdL said "what do I know, I'm from Kansas". We split: Papas Rellenas (Cuban fried stuffed potatoes)
Deviled Crab Roll
Platanos Fritos (fried plantains)
Roast Pork with yellow rice
Cuban sandwich (half pressed, half not pressed)

CdL and her really cool DH invited us to stay with them next week at Sanibel. How's that for payback!

Side note-CdL and I have been communicating for over a year as we have found that we virtual twins in many, many ways. We both love to organize among other things and thought about a business partnership where we go to CF members houses (invited of course) to organize their problem areas. To say we got along beautifully is an understatement. But, when has that not happened with CF get togethers??

I know it's cruel but we only have one picture and I apologize.

Oh my, Cathy, I hope you guys come cheap. I'll need you both for about two months.

Well, I pop in to see what's going on here, and What Do I See? I'm being discusssed! ;)

I have had the BEST Time! The first thing I noticed is Cathy and I can almost look eye to eye which is a comfort in itself. We walked into her kitchen which smelled DELICIOUS, as she was making lasagna, meatballs/sausage in red sauce, home-made bread, an incredible frozen dessert, AND...a taste of her special coarsely ground artisian grits (you know I love those) which were only a tease, as no one can easily get them any longer. (Sorry, Annie, I know they're not your favorite but they were So Good! My southern friend knows her grits.) As delicious as the food was, I think I enjoyed the pantry/laundry/garage/bedroom make-over tour just as much, as anyone who knows me understands I love a well-designed space where you can find anything you're looking for at a glance! I loved meeting Buster Frank who is a very well-preserved handsome beauty, as is Raymond, who is also a dear. (Trips to the grocery store notwithstanding, because I know when to take advantage of an opportunity to go look at the foodstuffs.) We had a fun morning, and I got to taste a local Cuban along with the other delicacies. I have to say, I'm most excited our adventure isn't over, as we get to look forward to seeing each other again in Sanibel! When you meet your ''soul-sister'' face to face, you can't just say goodbye!

There will be more to update you with next week...Are you jealous? The other thing is, I have the only pictures, and I'm not quite ready to share them yet. I'll be adding more, so stayed tuned!

CdL, you can have ALL of my grits, with my blessings, LOL. They are one of those things I can put in my mouth and I can force myself to swallow the stuff, but I'm going to gag, guaranteed!

You ladies are having so much fun, and I am jealous. Cathy is one of my BFF's and I know you can't go wrong at her house.

As for that business venture, consider yourselves invited. I would be happy to be the debut assignment. I look at my pantry and know both of you would have a grand old time there!
