Jayne,

All I can say is wow. Rhiannon helped me to unpack the boxes and she was going nuts. She wants to eat the olives and pickles right now. And of course we have to open up a juice box first:) Peyton is sleeping so when she gets up she will get some of the juice too. I love the theme, and this time of year we eat out of the garden most days:) Everything looks great and I can't wait to try everything. I am posting some pics but you might have some better ones, I just used my camara phone since DH is at school:)

Well this is the third time that I have typed this out and hopefully it won't get lost again:) DH got into the pistachios and they are just about all gone

Jayne did her research and saw that the closest Trader Joes is several states away and I have been lusting at all the goodies from them.

for the girls some joe's kids juice box

and chili lemon pistachios

also 3 sets of summer tea and hand towels, a veggie peeler, a summertime cookbook, and a blue pint jar ( I collect these and only have quarts so far

Jayne also sent Peyton and Rhiannon a scratch and sniff fruit book, and frosty mugs with lids and straws built in:)

Great, all those glass jars arrived! LOL. I was a little worried. Hope you enjoy the "fruits and vegetables" items. Yes, I definitely thought you were in need of a TJ fix! I think there was also a bottle of strawberry balsamic vinegar in there too. And that Messermeister serrated peeler is one of my favorite kitchen items. I thought you could use it with all the gardening and canning you do. I really enjoyed getting to know you and your family! I did take a pic before packing...

I wouldn't listen to anyone at HD when they give you style pointers. Chrome is classic. Nickel is more expensive and considered more "lux", but most people cannot tell the difference unless they are side to side. Chrome is easy to clean, less expensive, and it is easy to find accessories for it. I can't imagine chrome every being "dated". It may not be the "in" thing at one point or another, but it isn't dated either. ORB, IMO, will be very dated eventually. The finish isn't as durable, it is more expensive, and you often cannot match one ORB to another, making it more difficult to pick out matching pieces (e.g., faucet and lighting, from different manufacturers). I'm not sure about brushed nickel. Like ORB it can vary widely based on manufacturer. I think it is very utilitarian looking, not pretty or lux at all. I have it on the doorknobs in my mudroom because I needed a white metal in there and thought the brushed finish would be more durable. It is, but it's just sort of "there". I don't get the trend towards brushed nickel throughout a house right now. But that's my opinion. The only finish is really, really dislike is chrome mixed with polished brass. Yuck. Get Gel Gloss at HD and buff your chrome faucets. They will stay spot free for weeks.

Trin, Sending good thoughts and prayers for her. I went through the lumpectomy and radiation 6 1/2 years ago, so I hope that she will be as fortunate. The one thing that helped me was following the diet they gave me after the surgery. It said to have lots of good quality protein - eggs, chicken, turkey. I can't remember what else. The diet helped me heal quickly. I'm sure that they will give her good advice. Another thing that helped me is that I started swimming when the surgeon said I could. Swimming slowly helped to stretch the chest and arm muscles.

Well, I pop in to see what's going on here, and What Do I See? I'm being discusssed! ;) I have had the BEST Time! The first thing I noticed is Cathy and I can almost look eye to eye which is a comfort in itself. We walked into her kitchen which smelled DELICIOUS, as she was making lasagna, meatballs/sausage in red sauce, home-made bread, an incredible frozen dessert, AND...a taste of her special coarsely ground artisian grits (you know I love those) which were only a tease, as no one can easily get them any longer. (Sorry, Annie, I know they're not your favorite but they were So Good! My southern friend knows her grits.) As delicious as the food was, I think I enjoyed the pantry/laundry/garage/bedroom make-over tour just as much, as anyone who knows me understands I love a well-designed space where you can find anything you're looking for at a glance! I loved meeting Buster Frank who is a very well-preserved handsome beauty, as is Raymond, who is also a dear. (Trips to the grocery store notwithstanding, because I know when to take advantage of an opportunity to go look at the foodstuffs.) We had a fun morning, and I got to taste a local Cuban along with the other delicacies. I have to say, I'm most excited our adventure isn't over, as we get to look forward to seeing each other again in Sanibel! When you meet your ''soul-sister'' face to face, you can't just say goodbye! There will be more to update you with next week...Are you jealous? The other thing is, I have the only pictures, and I'm not quite ready to share them yet. I'll be adding more, so stayed tuned!

My daughter,(40) just this week moved back in, she had left her husband and her teenage daughter over a year ago,which was a shock to everyone,she was having an affair with someone at work, and moved in with him. This of course caused a lot of problems, her daugher was devistated,her husband was a mess... I am close to both of them. It was many months before my daughter and I spoke..I finally told her I had to let go and fogive her, not for her, but for me.However our relationship was also strained. I told her I was concerned for her, as this man has a history of domestic abuse. She called me last week, she needed out of the relationship. is broke and now worried about her job, since he is her superviser. I told her, I had 3 rules...she had to be completly honest with me, NO drinking( this had been an issue with the boyfriend, she joined in) and she needed to seek conseling. So now she is living in our guest room.. But things are looking better, after talking to human resorces, her job is okay.. turns out this guy has a history of relationships with co-workers.She is looking into being switched to another department. And her daughter has been comunicating with her, very causiously, but a start.... So wish us all the best..

What a perfect spread for appies on the deck! Those mingling olives look good! What a treat for the kids too, they must have had a great time getting into it all. Nice package Jayne, sounds like Stacie's already enjoying them.

What a great looking group of goodies! I especially like the tea towels, but the mugs are really cool too. Looks like TJ's pistachios are finding their way all over the country LOL.

Oh wow, the red pepper spread is my all time favorite and those towels are really cute as heck.

Stacie, I think I have one of the original gray metal one piece lids with the ceramic lining for that jar, if you'd like it.

Jayne, you did a heck of a good job and I still really like the scratch and sniff book, perfect for a couple of budding foodies.

I'm jealous of all the TJ stuff I don't have one close by. I have one of those peelers and they are the best. Looks like the girls are enjoying their gifts as well.

Great swap package, a taste of TJ's in the middle of nowhere. Shame that Jayne could not take a pic of the girls before packaging the box as I really want to see a close up of them.

Ah, another canner like me a canning jar fetish. That blue jar is great, especially as it appears to have threads so you can use it. Often I see cool ones that are not useable so i don't get them. I have a serrated peeler like that one and I love it. Great job Jayne!! I know all the girls will love it (oh yeah, the DH too).

Hey, I warned that the theme was weak...Stacie is an avid gardener, so what says summer to a gardener like "fruits & vegetables"? Every item (except the mugs) has a connection to either a fruit or a vegetable.

Tea towels are always good, and those are especially cute. I love the blue glass jar, but we just threw out our own blue glass jars, but they weren't the "Ball" type.

Nice that you were able to get treats from TJs that you wanted!

I think you just cannot go wrong with a Trader Joe's package! Jayne, that was a great selection you put together. And getting something for those precious little ladies was very sweet and thoughtful. I just love those towels, very cute! A very nice package, Stacie. Have fun with it!

I'm all smiles picturing you opening the swap box. The girls look tickled pink; great photos from your phone of all things. I love the pun towel too. I haven't been to TJ's in a while and haven't tried many of your choices, Jayne. But I love, love, love, the apricot sauce...I try to keep it on hand.

Hmmmm... we may have to petition TJ's for some goodies in return for all this great publicity for them! If they need any expansion test marketing, all the data is right here. If we play our cards right, we'll all have a neighborhood TJ's!

Great gifts for girlsingarden and her family. Those mugs definitely fit the theme--if you take the juice out of the fruit, you have to put it somewhere!

Wonderful assortment of swap goodies! Jayne does terrific swap packages - I know! So now we have strawberry balsamic as well as lemon???

I think we should all email TJ's and let them know how important they are to the Cooking Forum. You never know, we might get some coupons or something.....
