Secret to venison without gamey taste

When I first tasted venison, I hated the strong gamey taste. Have since learned it is all in the processing! Never have your butcher process your deer with bones in. If it is all boneless (we mostly get ground meat) it will taste pretty much like cow.

Also, when cooking the steaks, roasts and chops, either cook very quickly to only medium or cook it for hours in a stew if you want very tender meat. There is little or no marbling/fat in venison, so if you want it moist and tender, don't over-cook.
