'57 Chevy!

I was 17 and working at a factory right out of high school.
I fell in love with my supervisor's car...... a '74 Roadrunner....burgundy with the white strips on the hood and over the roof.

It was only 6 months old, and I said if he ever wanted to sell it, I'd buy it. He offered it to me shortly after.
I paid $3,000 cash for it, and babied that thing. I washed it so often the neighbours teased me I was going to take the paint off it. Loved that car!

(next car was a Camaro...piece of sh.t. Hated it and sold it less than a year later.)

1979 powder blue Monti Carlo. 2-door. The doors were as long as my entire WV Rabbit!

'56 ford station wagon...not really mine...but first one I drove. When I got married, my husband bought me a '66 Mustang fastback.

'67 Mustang stick shift. Got lots of speeding tickets in that car.

73 Ford Mustang that I purchased when I was about to graduate from college. I was engaged to DH and he was more influential in the decision than my parents - who were pushing for Chevy Chevette. Sadly the oil embargo came into play shortly after we got married and we sold the snappy Mustang in favor of a no frills 5 speed Datsun 210 that got 46 MPG.

A beat up Ford Mustang convertible 1971 model. I bought it in 1974 for $50 and sold it within 6 months. I also had 2 fender benders wile driving it, adding to its Beat-up-ness!

I am still waiting on it :)

My first car was a 1973 Plymouth Duster. The backseat was so big we could easily get 10 people in that car. Those were the days before seat belt laws! I foolishly traded that car for a 1971 Opal GT. While fun to drive, it was impossible to find parts for. My favorite car will always be my 1969 Ford Mustang. That is the only car I ever really felt attached to.

My first car was a 1958 Chevy Impala, white on the top, cherry on the bottom. I got my drivers license in 1962 at 16 years old. What a beautiful car that was and loved it!! It didn't get the best gas mileage but it was easy us to pool our "change" together and fill her up!!

I got my first car in 1978. It was a 1964 Chevrolet Impala. It was a tank; four doors, big fins, a hood longer than my current CRV, bench seats.

I hated it then; I wish I had it now.

A hideous brown '72 Dodge Dart. I drove that ugly thing for 13 years for some reason. When I took my foot off the gas pedal, the engine would die. I was so happy when I finally sold it.

I still tend to keep my foot on the gas pedal, all these years later.

First car was a red Anglia - I don't know the year but it was used when my parents bought it for me in 1964. First new car was a '65 blue mustang convertible. Loved it. I sold it to my sister after my then husband & I bought a new '70 Plymouth GTX.

In 1975 I got a 1970 Mustang Mach I, orange and black 3 speed. I couldn't even drive a standard when I got it but I learned real quick.

A brown '59 Studebaker Lark....hand down from my father.

68 dodge dart with a slat 6 engine...i loved it..we rebuilt the engine, and weeks later dh totaled it...i'd probaly still have it, lol...

I never had a car of my own when I was a teenager but the first one I ever drove was my dads 54 Mercury.DH had a 55 Chevy when we married so I guess you could say that was my first car.He worked for his dad on the farm and saved his money all year,paid $1500. cash for it.It was a two door,not a hardtop,and solid black with black and white leather interior.It had an experimental engine in it that was used in Highway Patrol cars.He was so proud of that car! I won many a drag race in that car!LOL Wish we still had it.

In 1969, I brought a 1964 Covair. I loved that car. My (then) DH had it painted pink. I was in my early 20s and drove too fast. Friends called it the pink streak.

My father bought 16-year-old me a Ford Fairlane convertible. When I was 20 I traded it for the car of my heart, an Austin-Healey 3000 (Healey Blue).

After I married we lived in an apartment with street parking. DH decided we should sell the Healey after the Great Snow of 1967; it had been buried for many weeks and only dug out by a front loader. I mourned.

I mourned so long that 20 years later DH bought me a replacement Healey! Now WHY did we sell that car for $6000? It's worth a fortune now!

I think mine was early 70's, don't really know.
Mine was awful brown, too. It really got me around though...drove it back and forth to college, I think it was pushing 200K til I finally sold it. The guy that bought it from me drove for quite a few years too. He drove about 60 miles a day to work...

Monica--mine was a white (red interior) 60 Studebaker Lark! Wasn't that a great car? Paid $86 for it in 1968--worth many times the price. Wish I still had that baby!

1950 Falcon, then a '62 Falcon Futura, and finally a '72 Chevy Vega!!

My first car was a 1974 Camaro LT. I was 18 or 19 when I bought it for a few thousand.

Got my first car in 1977. I was 16 yrs. young! It was a 1977 Monte Carlo... camel colored with camel interior! Had it until 1985. Got married in 1985 and instead of a wedding, I asked for a car. Got a 1985 blue BMW!! Nice! Better than a wedding!

Mustang fastback, auto, cream yellow color, bought it myself when I got a job, can't remember the year, 1967 or 1968, it was new.

In 1972 when I was 16 I drove a 1962 Ford Fairlane (it was my great grandfather's car

1951 Oldsmobile.

I Had a 61 chevy Belair, I can't remember much about it. I wanted something else.

A 1976 white, VW Rabbit that I bought from one of the members of the Hooters Band, popular back in the 80s/early 90s.

I bought a 1960 Ford Falcon brand new with my own money when I was 18. I think my payments were something like $36 per month. It was "Mediterranean green" and I loved that car. We traded it in on a new '66 Pontiac Grand LeMans, and I hated to give up "my" first car.

The first car I wanted to get was a '64 Ford Falcon. Not a lot special about it but I knew it was in good shape and should be economical to operate and easy to work on. I wanted to buy it from the estate of my great-uncle but my Dad wouldn't hear of it. "someone was saying 'dem Falcons are only good for about 50,000 miles!" That car was babied by my great-uncle and only had about 60k on it IIRC. It ran like new, was in perfect condition and sold for something like $660 at the auction. First, my dad didn't want me driving because my older brother had gotten into so much trouble once he got a car (which BTW, my dad BOUGHT for him! LOL) and his poor grades got even worse and he figured my good grades would suffer. I asked him how I was supposed to get to the vo-tech I was going to start in a couple weeks and he finally came to his senses (I was the only one to go to post HS education so he just didn't think I "needed" a car), but he decided I should buy the neighbor's Buick, which I did just to have something to drive and didn't have much time to look. '67 Buick LeSabre. That thing was huge, gulped gas, but was a nice enough car I guess but he had it repainted from sort of a gunmetal color to a hideous light blue and it was a terrible paint job on top of it. It would start when my dad's car wouldn't and I guess that means a lot. Drove it a couple years then bought a new Ford Courier pickup and sold the Buick.

A friend of mine had a '62 Chevy II and I think it was the Nova too. What a great little car! And later I had a '62 Impala which probably was one of my favorite vehicles ever. I bought that from my GF and would be driving it today had I not been hit by some dumb b*$%# who didn't realize that ice is slippery. She t-boned me at an intersection doing about 50-60 mph. 40 mph zone, but the cops wouldn't come out unless there was a death or injury since there were so many accidents that day, they said we'd have to handle it ourselves. But that car was built solid. I still drove that car for a couple months after the accident! With the caved in side and the (what should have been a convex) B-post bent in concave! But that solid steel saved my life, no doubt so for those who hate me so, blame that Impala for being so structurally sound! Quiet as could be on the road, got 22-25 mpg on the road and just a relaxing, roomy vehicle.

It was a 63(I think) Valiant Cnvertible. Black with red interior and push button gears.It was a hand me down from my sister.I loved it.Then when I was 17 and working,I bought a 68 Chevy Impala...great car! I paid 650 for it.Had it about 4 years backed out of my dad's driveway and WHAM! No more cool car!

1984 Chevy Cavallier. It was a champaign color with charcoal interior. I had it for 12 years.

A bright ORANGE Opel Cadet! Yes, true unabashed neon orange! I got it used in 1977; I assume it was something like a 1971. I loved that car! It had a black interior with black leather seats and a black leather covered steering wheel that reached about 100 degrees on hot days and burned the *** out of me and my friends!

a 1976 Dodge Colt...bright yellow with black interior. Bought it from my older sister in 1983 I think. We called it "The Bee" cause the bees were soo attracted to that yellow!!

A vw beatle baby blue-now a red cadilac escallade

Mine was a 1977 Ford Grenada, in a lovely shade of yellow. It was almost as old as I was at the time; it was a huge car, and I could barely touch the gas pedal. My friends and I called it the Banana Boat.

A black 60 something Corvette. Red rolled interior. It had push button transmission on the dash. The garage mechanic neighbor picked it up at auction for my parents for $100. It was supposed to be passed on to my sister, but it never lasted that long. Her first was a 65 blue with white top mustang convertible that was newly painted. When it rained she found out the quarter panels were "fixed" with newspaper and painted bright blue.
