Liked this savory 'pop' tart idea

This is probably old news to many but I'd never seen this idea. It was on Good Morning American Weekend Chef on a Shoe String - tried to find it on their website but it was impossible!

Essentially take a simple pie dough (no sugar), add in complementary to filling spices if desired, roll out and cut into pop tart sized rectangles.

He sauteed a little shallot and garlic in oil, took out the shallot and garlic, sauteed some mushrooms in that oil with a little soy sauce. Put those in center of one rectangle, put over that some small chunks of goat cheese, then sauteed shallot and garlic. Spread a little egg wash around the edges, put the 2nd rectangle on top and used a fork to seal, egg washed the top and baked (um...can't remember the temp argh!).

Drizzled a little reduced balsamic vinegar with some other ingredients(?) over it.

I'm not sure how well these would hold up to transport in a car say but you could experiment with breakfast ones for commuters.

Or if they reheated ok they would make a easy dinner for a night when your tired and not too hungry.

Anyway, sounds like something I might like to play with!
