and now I am back to bug the daylights outta all of ya again...

I have left my tracks on these posts, so to keep from repeatin myself and boring all of ya:

I had something to say on: gas stoves, cabbage soup, site of the day, I'll show ya mine, 3 things, getting to know ea. other, talker or quiet, cleaning frenzy, Fri.s Question, new clothes, and I think that's all I gotta say for now...

Lucretia 1, I don't think it's the syrphids and I didn't see anything else there that looked like it. Thanks for your help though. :o)) The first pic I posted was from Google, but it wasn't from a site that explained what the worm was... it was a stock photo site or something. Here are some pics I took this morning of the little culprits. ON THE STEM, ALWAYS NEXT TO A BUD, WITH ITS HEAD BURIED INSIDE AS IT HOLLOWS IT OUT... HERE IS THE DAMAGE THEY DO... MUGSHOT...(I couldn't get him to smile, with his wee beedy eyes!) BODY... HE THINKS HE'S CUTE... LOOKING FOR MORE BUDS TO MUNCH... To clarify, as long as I've been growing roses (10 years) I have always had these, I just assumed that this was what everyone was talking about when they mentioned "rose slugs". I thought that the REAL rose slugs were just some anonymous green caterpillar looking for lunch. If noone nows what these are, I will email Baldo or the "What's That Bug?" website to try to get an ID.

People love to tell horror stories, Lily, but there are plenty of happy stories you probably haven't heard. Ten years ago my son was selling the occasional piece of ham radio equipment on eBay, and I asked him to list some of his father's chemical engineering books for me. He said no, he wanted me to learn to sell on eBay myself because i would love it. I was resistant, but he was right--all it took was one good sale for me to love it. Like most of us, I just had to get over the hump of that first listing. It seems intimidating, but eBay wants sellers and they make it easy. As for the horror stories, I have none to tell. When you set up a Paypal account they'll ask to access your bank account. It's a simple matter to open a new checking account (usually free) just for Paypal, keeping a low balance on the very slim chance it could get into the wrong hands. Mine never has more than $300 in it. As for Craigslist, it, too, is easy--plus it's free. Scammers love it but they are usually easy to spot. The Craigslist site issues warnings, spelling out what to look for. A scammer is unlikely describe what you're selling by name; instead, they'll mention your "item." A famous scam offers to pay by Cashier's check. You will quickly get a feel for the authentic email from a real buyer. You don't put your contact information in the ad, unless you want to. I never do. Buyers contact me via an anonymous email address, and I decide which ones I want to respond to. Except for the time I sold a piece of equipment too heavy to move, I meet all my buyers away from my home, at public places. Again, I have no horror stories to report. If you've bought at 40 years worth of auctions, I'll bet you have some stuff collectors would love. You could have a blast doing this, Lily. When you're ready to get started, you can always consult the KT with any questions! :-)

I'm pleased - but not surprised - that you had a lovely time. That seems to be the usual experience when KT folks get together ... I've met several, and have enjoyed the experience, every time. Some time ago Pooh Bear and I got together at his place, and when people asked for pictures, Pooh told how his camera had been sitting on the table beside his computer (and we'd been sending messages while we were together) ... but neither of us had given a thought to taking any pictures! There was a rather indistinct picture that was taken when we had a get together at Dances ... but the first that showed my mug well was when Caroline/Wes took several at her place near Fargo. Here's a suggestion: make a resolution to get together with at least one KTer, before too long, but with several would be even more fun. ole joyful

Nola I remember chatting with you also. I don't post as much as I used to but I still check in here several times a day.

I'm not riding my trike as much as I did in the past either. Got some medical problems so it sits in the garage a lot.

I still have been traveling around and meeting KTers that want to get together. I have lost count of how many folks I have met. Going on a trip next month, MaryAnn and I are going to laugh and eat our way around East Texas.

vicki_lv....is that the same place where 'what's happens there stays there?' I've never been to vegas (or the casinos) and I still don't have any money...so, how can that be?

lorifromutah and nodakgal...I remember you folks! Good to see you did't run out on the KT -- always nice to see a familiar face!

barb_from_pa....hey, that's a real cute cartoon! Looks alot like my son (only he never seems that happy or excited to see me! LOL!)

nita_az...TX tour sounds WELL PLANNED (you must have had something to do with that, I'm sure--you always were the organizer of the group!) I would need a few more of those 'recuperation days' in there; however...too tired to breathe some days!

chisue...I am old enough that the song was probably inspired by me! LOL....there were words put to it in the 60's...prior to that it was only an instrumental!

Welcome back Nola. I was here back when Spike was, but hung out at the Garden Junk Forum under a different name. He made me mad and I left. ( on my own ) I found KT a few years ago through another message board and have been here ever since.
