DH just asked the same question! My answer,the usual one,was "I have no idea"! I have nothing thawed out,as usual.LOL I have a couple of small round roasts in the freezer that I bought on sale in NM.Think I may put them in a sink full of cold water and thaw them,then cut off some steaks,beat the heck out of them and make chicken fried steak.Today is DH's birthday and he is feeling a little down because only one of the kids has called him to wish him happy Birthday so far.Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes are his favorite meal and I haven't made them in a long time,so I think that's the menu! May be 8 o'clock before we eat but I guess that's OK too. By the way,why is it men get so bent out of shape when "everyone" doesn't wish them a happy birthday? I have to remind HIM when it's mine then it doesn't mean anything that he says it.LOL

Clare, I have my ribs in the slow cooker, too. They sure are smelling good!! Wish I could bake something for dessert, but it's 83 degrees outside and I'd have to turn on the air. Decided to bake the sweet potato in the microwave. Everybody's dinner sounds good--especially tacos!

Beautiful day here in central Indiana. It is near 80 I think. For supper we are having BLTs and leftover pineapple upside down cake. I've been drinking on iced tea. Izzi and I went to Amber and Mike's for lunch. We had hot dogs and burgers on the grill, baked beans, two kinds of potato salad, chips and I took a banana cream pie. While there the neighbor gal brought over her leftover chicken enchiladas for us to eat. They were very good. Oldest daughter Cheryl and her husband Kevin are there helping out putting up new crown molding in the kitchen. My knee is bothering me so I had them bring me home. Sue

Well, it's not so unusual, but definitely something I don't normally do... I have a quilt in progress that is going to hang on my living room wall above the slider doors, kind of like a giant valance (10 ft X 5 ft). The center is a mariner's compass block, then around that is a large area of appliqued plants & flowers that are native to Florida. I designed and drew it all myself, using pictures from library books. I am definitely NOT an artist, and can't draw worth much, but I'm pleased with the way it came out. It's all hand appliqued, and in a lot of places I made little folds, tucks and gathers to give the flowers and leaves a 3D look. That section has a pieced border around it, and now I'm working on piecing a whole bunch of pineapple blocks to go on the ends, then the whole thing will get a braid border. Donna

I am always in the mood for pasta. Most of it anyway.

We are having veal burgers, with LuckyGardnr's Columbian Tumada Potatoes. The veal burgers will be on ciabatta bread.

Yesterday, I cooked a deer roast with carrots and onions in the crock pot. Today I used leftover deer roast for Bar-B-Q served with potato chips and pork-n-beans.

I have Salsa Chicken in the crock pot and I am going to serve it with noddles and Parmesan and I have fresh asparagus that I steamed on top of the chicken. I have been eating it since it was ready so there is a big question now as to whether there will be any left for dinner. My DH asked me to hold dinner for a little while so he can finish up some work he is doing outside.

I had grandkids over night and most of today...so I was in the mood for "easy"

I browned ground beef and whipped up some of the "country peppered gravy" (from a box) mixed in the beef and ate it over mashed potatoes with corn on the side...

One of our quick favorites.
