What are you up to today?

I am staying home. To much work with the move, and at work as well lately, and I am all sore and worn out. I called in sick today.

Nothing much going to get done. So far, only went to the store, to get milk, so I could eat breakfast. Now, I am sitting here surrounded by boxes... which could also be nice.. cause I have one on each side of my easy chair, and am surfing the web.

Hopefully I am back to full strength tomorrow, cause I got lots to do then.

Glad you have made a good decision to take it easy. Moving is not easy either physically or emotional. Taking a day or so off is good.

You deserve some down time from everything. I think it's a great way to spend a day, surfing and chatting, and surfing some more!

Good afternoon everybody--another scorcher here today. Supposed to get up to 91 degrees. Woke up this morning to some very loud noise outside. They were pressure washing the house getting it prepped for painting. After it dried, they put a sealer on it. Now they're painting around the windows. Sure is nice not having to do all that ourselves. I made a cucumber/dill salad for dinner tonight. We're grilling hamburgers and having leftover potato casserole. We don't use buns for our burgers anymore. I usually just saute mushrooms and carmelize some onion to serve on top. I'm having a lazy day. May take a nap ;-) Hope everyone's having a good day--and getting more done than I have.

Good morning Patti, it's going to be another hot one today, but should get a little cooler with rain for the next few days. This one looks good to me. Spicy Shrimp Pasta (BH&G) 8 oz. dried angel hair pasta 3 cups fresh broccoli florets 1 6.5-oz. jar sun-dried tomato strips with Italian herb packed in oil 2 shallots, finely chopped 2 clove garlic, minced 1 lb. frozen, peeled, and deveined shrimp with tails, thawed and drained 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper 1/4 cup snipped fresh basil 1. In 4-quart Dutch oven cook pasta with broccoli according to pasta package directions. Drain; return to Dutch oven. Cover to keep warm. 2. Meanwhile, drain tomatoes, reserving oil. If necessary, add olive oil to equal 1/4 cup. In extra-large skillet heat oil over medium-high heat. Add shallots; cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes or until tender. Add shrimp and crushed red pepper; cook and stir 2 minutes. Add sun-dried tomatoes; cook and stir 2 minutes. Add garlic, cook and stir 1 minute more or until shrimp are opaque. 3. Toss shrimp mixture with cooked pasta. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle additional olive oil. Transfer to serving bowls. Sprinkle snipped fresh basil. Serves 4.

:) 60 Doesn't seem as old as I once thought, YL! We started at the same age 19 & 20, but we pretty much pulled the trigger in rapid succession.. so, now Holly has her masters, Liz is a para-pro and Sam... well, he's dangerously close to becoming a frog like his father. OAH - Who's cued Pandora to "Lou Reed & The Velvet Underground" since about 9:00 this morning. There's probably one glass of Pinot left in the bottle? Maybe not.

Moving is no fun and hard work. I'm still fighting a sinus infection. Been sick for about a month now, started with a cold, then sinus infection, then stomach problems because of the antibiotic I was on. Sinus infection is back now and am on my second antibiotic. The blooming trees aren't helping but they sure are beautiful. Everything is blooming in such a short time this year because it's been so warm.

Yesterday I made myself do some yard work, Lauren mowed the front yard and I weedeated. Sola helped too. I started to do the backyard but was worn out after mowing part of the yard. If it doesn't rain this afternoon I might go out and finish. Most of it is weedeating.

I want to clean the sunroom too but sure don't feel like doing the work. I'm going to go take some Tylenol for my headache and watch a Midsomer Murder episode that came from Netflix yesterday. Then have to go take Sola to the eye doctor so she can get the hang of putting contacts in her eyes. Back to work tomorrow. ) :

Moni, I can imagine your fatigue and wish a bunch of us could go and help you unpack. Hope you slow down, don't overdue. But I can't wait to see what you do to the place!
