happy st. patrick's day......

or weekend! We start celebrating today and it will last until Monday evening. This is my favorite day of the whole year. Today I am riding the Blarney Bus with my girlfriend's and my son's girlfriend is coming along. This will take us to 6 or 7 pubs in the area that will have irish fare and irish music. Tomorrow my mom will cook ham and cabbage (I cooked mine last week after the parade in Phila.). And Monday, it's out againg to breakfast in downtown Phila, and then who knows, anywhere there is irish music. I will be tired by Tuesday!!!! Hope you all have a great weekend and a wonderful St. Patrick's Day.

Happy St. Pat's back to you too. Have you been to Kildare's Irish Pub on Head House Square in Philly? My son loves the Shepherd's Pie - the second floor looks like the inside of a castle. I don't think they're open for lunch though on Monday, just dinner - unless they changed their hours for the holiday.

Good to hear from everyone. The hair dos turned out great and we had alot of fun. Do I want to do it again? Not sure.LOL It snowed all day so I didn't go to the parade. We ended up with company and had a nice evening visiting tho. Had more company on Sun. so didn't get my training done either.Yikes... I have a hard time sleeping most nights due to my hips and groin hurting, just can't get comfortable. I've noticed I don't sleep as much as I use to on a daily basis. After so many nights of this I finally get home, eat dinner and before I know it I'm alsleep on the sofa. Don't wake up for 12 hours. I've been on fosamax for years and hope this doesn't have anything to do with that. Punk

Wishing you the happiness of a leprechaun's gold, and a day of songs and love that will never grow old! Happy (belated) St. Patrick's Day! :) Since I am new to this place, I got a bit delayed in wishing you all. So, how do you generally celebrate St.Patrick's day at home? In our home,we just started celebrating it last year after my son pestered us about it. I was searching online for things to do this St.Patrick's Day and came across this list of easy and fun to do St.Patrick's Day activities. Don, thank you for the beautiful song and pictures, too. Danny Boy always makes my throat tighten and brings tears to my eyes. And Robb, thank you for the lovely poem; may it hold true for all of us--Irish or not. As the Irish saying says, (I think), "May you be in Heaven a half an hour, before the Devil even knows you're dead". Something like that, anyway. :-)

Have a memorable St. Paterick's Day celebration, everyone ... go green!

I'm feeling a bit sad.

My son's friend, the carny guy, hadn't heard of the St. Paddy's Day Parade in downtown Toronto on Sunday noon ...

... and when I told him, wondered whether I could take him.

I couldn't, I thought - didn't know licensed driver willing to make that pretty well all-day trip.

Plus, I'd have to have the driver drive my (standard transmission) car ... as I can't drive on the expressway.

This "second childhood" licence is for the birds!

Make what efforts are necessary to protect your licence ... not put it at risk!

He figures that going on the bus is too complicated ... and expensive.

I went to the St. Pat's parade in New York City once about 25 years ago, It was very crowded, I couldn't see anything (cause I'm only five one) and I had trouble finding a bathroom. This year I'll stay home,watch on TV and eat my corned beef and cabbage and potatoes. DH is doing the cooking,I love it!
