We have a microfiber couch in our upstairs game room. My kids really like the fabric -I find it to be horrid. Don't like touching it, or anything about it. I love the feeling of crisp, cool denim, linen, all kinds of fabrics, but do not like the microfiber at all. I've heard other people say this too, so make sure before you decide that the feel of the fabric doesn't creep you out.

Me too... cannot stand the feel of microfiber!

paddytc, have you seen (and felt) the sectional in person?

Sorry!!! It is called Everyday Suede. She told me the durability is like a mircofiber. I loved the feel of the suede, butjust worried about not being able to take it off and throw it in the washing machine like a their slipcovers. Hard to give up that old blue jean.

When I was testing microfiber I put it under a huge battery of tests-peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, marker, pen, spit (mine) etc. It all wiped up beautifully with...Germex!

That being said I ended up with a chenille type microfiber because I loved the color. I really put months into analyzing color, and came to the conclusion that small swatches of color read lighter on larger pieces, especially the mid-range colors. Put your swatches across the room, and view from a distance.

Dirt shows faster on lighter no matter how well it cleans. I went mid-range brown knowing I'd be more comfortable darker than fussing with lighter, but YMMV. I have been very happy with my choice,

I too have never liked microfiber. My daughters sofa is microfiber and I hate sitting on it. My clothes stick to the fabric and it's just not comfortable. Her sofa convinced me that we would not go that route but when looking for our new sofa, I learned that not all microfiber fabrics are created equal. Not only does it come in many styles but there are different qualities to it too and that can make a big difference. That's what we were told by the store we bought our sectional from and the sales man proved his point to me when I discovered that all the fabrics I liked the best were in fact microfiber. I would just urge you to keep an open mind when looking at it and understand that there are varying qualities and styles.

I have a micro suede sectional in our rec room and love it. I looked at alot of couches because I didn't want one that showed marks when you ran your hand across it. Mine does not. It is a light tan color. To me it is like my carpet. Stains do occur but can be cleaned fairly well. For our everyday sofa we have a leather sofa and it is sooo forgiving with the kids! I will always have leather while my kids are young!
