Entry door color.....

I want to buy a new entry door and have it painted in same color/shimmer as the one in this picture:

Door # 7 Beautitone (lipstick red)

I have searched for something the same color, cannot find, for a paint store to use their color machine on. Have been told they cannot use a picture of the door on their machine.

How do I come up with this color and shimmer?

Is it done with pearl added or an overglaze?

I have a paint sample from manufacturer of paint used in the picture, it is too dark in actual paint and does not have the shimmer. Know lighting plays a part too.

Yes, picture on computer screen is different than paint sample, but, I like the color on computer screen.

I've got to spruce up my front door (and inside half) too.

Locally we have a paint shop which carries Farrow and Ball paints, known for their quality and for their price unless you live in England. They have exterior paints in bright colors under their Full Gloss line that is a 95% sheen level.

Rectory Red looks a little deeper, but who knows at the 95% sheen level. Perhaps you can buy one of their sample pots, try it on a sample paper sheet sold and see.

Thank you for your response Petesmom. You are right, the areas below the shaker aren't complete. The shingles will be repeated there. We originally selected a dark reddish brown door in Sherwin Williams 2838 Polished Mahogany, but my interior designer thinks that the door will get lost in the dark brick, dark mortar, etc. That made me second guess our decison. If you go with a 3/4 window door you still have light coming in. Do you put screens in your storms in the summer? If not I do not think you will need them if you go fiberglass. Here is a link to therma tru doors, think lowes carries them... There are many with windows to let light in:). Provia carries very nice Faux wood doors too. When you look at the front in real life, does the window to the left of the door, look aqua as it does to me on this site? Are those colored blinds? If yes and yes, I would either get a new white window treatment, which would allow you to pick almost any color for the door, or paint the door a color that blends with the aqua window look.

I really like the first one. So just sidelights have the windows ? The second picture I really dont like the window in it. So I am figuring an oval winow would be too busy with the brick and other colors. Thankyou ,really appreciate it.
