I don't have anyone mad at me right now, well not a new mad anyway.
My older sister has been mad her whole life (not all due to her own behavior) and doesn't talk to me or my older brother.
The part of that that is distressing is since she doesn't associate with the brother and I or my daughter, we don't get to associate with her daughter and her children who I would love to know as they grow up.
Family is a funny thing, isn't it? We hadn't spoken with our older sister for years, but she showed up at our Mother's service to see what was left to her...go figure.
I realized long ago that this situation is not likely going to change so I don't dwell on it, and just enjoy the family I do have.

I only have my husbands family as mine are all deceased, except for some way off cousins that I have never met. Don't consider step as family.

My husbands family is a joy, and I don't fight so there would be no need for them to get mad at me. I love peaceful relationships. :)

We have lots of dysfunction in my well-educated family. You'd think as people get more educated and well-traveled, they'd also realize that family is so very precious.

Yes..my SIL, brother's wife. It's mutual. It's been this way since 2003 when she and my brother were caring for my dad before he passed away. First time ever that there has been any problems in my family. We have always been a close family and still are...just have the problem with her. I still talk to my brother though...he knows how she is! LOL....

Yes, my younger daughter is mad. Her car has been in the shop since last Thursday, and "somehow" it's my fault. The kitchen is a mess, also my "fault". I'm just a face they can be mad at when it suits them.

I have two teenagers and one almost teenager - so someone is always PO'ed about something! LOL

Not that I know of. My in-laws bad mouth me, but that's status quo for them. They bad mouth all of the female in-laws.

Funny that you ask, but yes. My sister is mad at me because I support the position of her moving out of my Mom's house. It is so that we can either rent or sell it to pay for my Mom's move to assisted care.

I don't think so....I hope not. I have been trying to get a hold of my DDIL, my son's widow for over a month now. I've tried to call and can only leave voice mail and emails do not get answered. My fear is that she is not well or something has happened to her. I don't know of any of her family, there in CA to ask. I'll keep trying. Dottie

Hell yes, and I'm mad at a few of them. They say sisters get closer as they age, but that's not the case here. We've all grown further apart (in our 40s/50s).

With 5 of us sisters (I'm #3), no one is talking to anyone else, except I talk to the youngest, and occasionally another one. Though we are family by blood, I don't consider us much of a family. Too much drama, jealousy, deception, ignorance, and disrespect for me to want to be part of.

The oldest and fourth oldest are the worse, but the 4th oldest caused all the problems that are going on. She estranged herself from everyone including mom, for no good reason. She will never realized she is the problem (always everyone else's fault), so she runs the other way. She has influenced her grown children to not bother with any of us too, so they don't. Her kids (in their mid/upper 20s are growing up to be HER).

The 4th one is especially evil too. She will do anything and everything to get her way. She's an instigator who manipulates everyone, even her children and husband. She plays people against one another. She's managed to rip apart several in-law families, including mine! She's hurtful and doesn't care. I do believe in Karma though!!

Not that I'm aware of and if they are, too bad! There are only me and my sister left in my family. We really don't get mad at each other because we see each other so infrequently (she lives in Ontario) that we don't waste time on that foolishness. If any of my in-laws are mad at me, they haven't said and I really don't particularly care.

I'm sure our family would be considered dysfunctional - in some way I think most families are. And yes, we have disagreements. But I don't ever remember a time when one of us was mad at another of us for more than a couple of hours. My deceased former mother-in-law's family was something else entirely. Their anger at one another often included claiming certain people didn't even exist. Example: MIL's nephew, Jimmy, hit my ex-husband (as a teen). MIL's sister tells MIL about something her son, Jimmy, accomplished. MIL says, "You don't have a son named Jimmy". Too much!

No. I'm glad I have a small family. Glad I never got the big family I really wanted and no sister, after reading all the above posters. Had a sorta big family (of in-laws) and it was alot like some of the posters here, lot of fighting and back biting. One incident over a beat up old table FIL left when he died, almost lead to someone getting really hurt (with a knife/gun).

I'm pretty sure SIL and BIL are probably livid with us right now.

About 5 years back, we discovered they'd misappropriated a quarter of a million $$$ from MIL (Alzheimer's). We alerted the courts, a guardian was appointed, and they pretty much had to admit to their stealing. They haven't spoken to us since (no loss), and unfortunately, have kept us from seeing MIL. MIL died a couple of weeks ago, and they didn't even tell us! We missed the funeral because of it.

With them being so untrustworthy about $$$, and because we own the largest share of MIL's home, our lawyer recommended we apply to be administrators of the estate. They got their notification of that last week. I'm certain they're not happy about it, and will try to block the only honest sibling from seeing that the estate is divided fairly.

Whew! I am so relieved to see that I am not the only one. Yes, my son.... who is 37, has not spoken to me in two years. He has yet to tell me about the birth of his youngest child, last August. He has always been that way, goes years,,,, then deems to acknowledge me. Very angry, arrogant and self-centered man. But I still love him. He is mad because I do not consider him the center of MY universe.... if that makes sense.
Also, oldest daughter.... not mad at the moment, but my husband and I walk on eggshells around her,,,, so we will not be kept away from the grandchildren.
ANd my sisters, (i am youngest of 3) talk to each other, but not me. They live pretty far away from me and we have never been close. LIke debi 2006 says, too much jealousy, and drama. Aren't families wonderful? Life is just too short to put up with rudeness and disrespect.

I have a cousin that I don't get a long with. She lives in the same town and that kind of makes it rough. She's a mess and I choose not to get involved in her drama and my MIL pretty much same reason.

We are not mad at each other, but I have one brother I have no relationship with and I want to keep it that way. If he was a neighbor instead of a brother I would avoid him. He would never be a friend, because he's not the kind of peerson I would have for a friend.

I really feel terrible that so many have problems in their family. SO and I both come from big families and everybody always gets along. We all are very close and we all live in the same town and I just can't imagine not getting along with any of them. Oh sure, there are some I like spending time with more than others, but we all get along.

No, not that I'm aware of. I'm the oldest of 4 girls. My two sisters that are closest to me in age, both work at the same agency as I do, we share lots of friends, and I am in contact with each of them almost everyday, by either phone, IM, email, or we hang out. We will get annoyed at each other, but are rarely mad at each other more than a few hours. My youngest sister lives in a different city, and we get along great, but don't keep very good contact. We'll text here and there but she's not much of a phone person. We are also the furthest apart in age, she is still in her early twenties. We always have fun when we see each other though, she just drove over for my 30th Birthday! We all get along just fine with my dad, and talk or email every few weeks to check in.

Some of my extended family are mad at each other and have cut each other off due to some really messed up things that happened in my family. They have all taken sides and being mad at each other is a big part of their lives. My sisters and I stay completely out of the drama (which is easier when you live 400 miles away), and get along with everyone.

My boyfriend's family are all pretty great and I like them and they all seem to like me. I'm starting to see some passive aggressive things from his mom (in general, not directed toward me), so we'll see how all that will play out in the future. haha!

Wow i guess i'm one of the lucky ones.I come from a big family,i'm # 10 of 12,but there are only 6 of us left and all girls.We get along fabulously well.I live 3000 miles away from them but we all talk to each other every week.In fact 2 of them just called to tell dh happy birthday,as did my dil who is in Okinawa at the time.

They were all there for me as i went thru chemo and called several times a week to see how i was doing.

We did have a couple of sister-in laws that tried to cause problems,but they've either passed away or my brothers divorced them.

We always say our parents would be proud of the way we all turned out,and are always there for each other.

I don't really think so. I live far from extended family, so we don't get much chance to be mad at each other. Some of them have quirks that annoy me (and I'm sure I... them), but we're accepting and tolerant anyway.

Like Iowagirl, with 4 kids at home (1 a teenager and 1 almost), they are likely to be mad at me sometime today, but not right this minute. ;o) If they were never mad at me, I wouldn't be doing my job.

Nobody on my husband's side seems to be angry with anyone. My SIL and I had words a couple of months ago. That was the first time in 30 years and it's smoothed over now. On my side, I have 6 siblings and my father and lots of nieces and nephews. My sister is the only who ever seems to want to fight. She will try to fight with us, or stir things up between other family members, but everyone knows what she's like, so they don't let it work. A couple of years ago she was very angry with me because I wouldn't lend her "enough money to live on for a year". I was, like, WHAT??? She sent me a very nasty email. She has "borrowed" money from various family members her whole life and has never paid any back. I ignored her for a while and later she apologized. I tolerate her for my father's sake.

Sadly, I have a crazy sister that has been a huge problem as long as I can remember. She treats others so bad over nothing. She is a year older then I am but she looks like she is 100. She married into an alcoholic family and I mean dead beat drunks. Her children have suffered from this lifestyle. She would steal from anyone as long as she got what she wanted. Really sad. She is 62 and has no life at all. No one will have anything to do with her. Even her children steer away from her.

Sadly, my Dad was this way too. He didn't drink but was not a nice man. My Mother was a peach.. Such a sweet lady.. Everyone loved her.. Thank goodness I took after my mom...

No one in my immediate family, but my DIL's aunt and grandmother/husband don't like me - it's mutual - oh, darn! Do I lose sleep over it - no. People who are 'mad' at you (or don't like you are) not concerned with you, they are concerned with what you think of them.
