UPDATE:Remember the curtains that weren't making me happy?

Thanks to all the ideas. If you remember my curtains did not go wall to wall which was the look I wanted. I was stumped how to achieve the look.

We ended up mounting L brackets and placed the pole up there, secured it.

I know some people didn't like the pole pocket but, it is what I have elsewhere and I wasn't really looking to change the style of the drapes, just extend the curtains. So, if they look like old lady curtains, oh well. I needed them to touch the ceiling so hanging them from rings wasn't really an option for me.

I missed this one... I was expecting to see and hear the solution to your (I think) Fam Rm curtain dilemma you wrote about several weeks ago. Something about having blinds to cover the windows, but not really ever using them to do that. No! Wait! I remember --- between which two of the layers would you add sheers to pull over (if you wanted to) the windows. If and when you needed/wanted to. Which there was some discussion (oh my failing memory) about how you didn't really want to use them, but they were there if you did. Or if your husband did. OR... SOMETHING!

Anyway - I always love looking at your rooms and window treatments. You certainly have a flair for decorating!

You did a good job with solving this dilemma. Thanks for sharing.

My worms originated because I read the _You Grow Girl_ gardening book which suggested a worm bin as an apartment composting option. I was thrilled, especially since the main office had threatened to pull out the garbage disposal that I wasn't supposed to have anyway (for what it is worth, they have not pulled it out and it has been a year). Before that I thought I was going to have to save up all of my scraps and take them to the town compost heap, which would be an ordeal and a half. Now, that said, I've never pampered my worms. They get frozen food portions that can thaw in the bin. They still give me poop, which I have used to fertilize my plants. However, their castings are not the only fertilizer that I have. Lord knows, if all they did was eat and not poo, I'd be just as happy. Less waste in the landfill makes a happy J. (Plus, that is less trash I have to walk down to the dumpsters.)

Your cabinet with the mirrored doors is super cool and it gives me an idea for one I've been unhappy with. I think I now know what to do to make it work. Always love your rooms and was also happy to read about your JCP shade. I've been playing with some shades too and that may be the fix I want. I never go into Penneys anymore even though they are very close to my house. Will check it out. The wall would be fine if it wasn't yours. I don't know how else to say it. We all have stuff where we make do or just don't get the decorating quite right but choose to live with it. I would be disappointed if you chose to live with it. I hope some of the ideas thrown out here now will make it right. Your DH will never know the difference, but your eye will always find those drapes annoying if you don't. Palimpsest....I just caught an older thread where you posted on Pink and showed the other side of that same bedroom with the deep pink pillow in an otherwise masculine bedroom. I thought that was genius. Now, this side of the room I see and it rocks too. Lovely. Great job. Red

!?!?!?!?!?ANIMAL SHELTER?!?!!? Who said anything about an animal shelter? NEVER will one of my puppies go to a shelter..EVER. I have a standing agreement with an adoption lady that she will place any puppies I have for a donation to her organization. One male went to Arizona, one female to St. George Utah and another female to Logan, Utah. Yesterday a couple picked up this little girl: She is identical to Tuffy-at-that-age and the peepee chewer. See the resemblence? Note: It is not often Tuffy will demean herself and play with Holly. The money for this little girl was transferred into my account today. The lady will meet her tomorrow night at a rodeo then come get her next Saturday after a horse show down south. She, I think, is the smartest in the litter. She is the only who can escape the pen and put herself back in . She loves attention but prefers one-on-one interaction. I call her Einstein. She is going to the rodeo clown family: Then there's Chetter Cheese a partner in crime peepee chewer. She looks like the Dad to Gabby's first litter; his name was Chet. Here's all the girls; taken just before Tuffy Jr. went to her new home. Then we have the male. He's a goof. A very lovable goof but a goof nonetheless. Look at the hair by his ears! missmary, oh yeah, I forgot about the sheers dilemma. I did add them, they are behind the panels, Only to be used when I'm feeling like I'm in a fishbowl. I used a wire system from Ikea. The wire runs between the blind and the panels. Works perfectly for what I need.

probookie, fyi the chair are from West Elm, they are the Elephant chairs. Love the name.

It looks smoother and less choppy. Funny, how a little thing can make a big difference. They were fine before, but after you pointed it out, then they needed to be fixed. Glad it worked out so nicely for you!
