Blueberry pie filling SALAD

2 (3 ounce) packages grape Jello
2 cups boiling water
1 can Blueberry Pie Filling
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
TOPPING
1/2 cup sour cream
8 ounces chream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Chopped pecans, if desired

Directions
Dissolve Jello in boiling water
Add Blueberry Pie Filling
Add drained crushed pineapple
Stir
Pour into a 9 X 13 baking dish
Chill, then add topping
TOPPING
Mix softened cream cheese with sour cream
Add sugar
Blend
Spread on top of chilled Jello
Sprinkle with chopped pecans ***I toasted mine
Refrigerate until ready to serve
WHEN READY TO SERVE
Cut into squares. Place square on salad plate with lettuce leaf OR line a large tray or plate with lettuce leaves, arranging salad squares on top. Lovely presentation

My family loves this.

My DS has never been a jello salad person, and he had two helpings of this one.

If you can't find grape Jello, you can use raspberry--I've never tried it with grape. It's a "have-to-have" at my sister's for just about any holiday. Her kids insist! ;-)

Blueberry pie filling IS NOT cheap!

Sometimes you can find pie filling at Big Lots pretty reasonable. When I find it I stock up!

Glenda, i went back and my recipe says pineapple undrained and that's the way i have been doing it. Did i copy it wrong the first time?

It was over $3 at WalMart.

Patches, I could not find the recipe I used. I accidentallly deleted it.

I DID go check, and the one above is right, but here's another one. I THINK this one is the one I used. Got it from a friend..

2 small packages grape Jello
2 cups boiling water
1 can regular size blueberry pie filling
1 small can unsweetened crushed pineapple, undrained
Topping:
1 small package cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Cool for 10 minutes. Stir in pie filling and pineapple until blended. Transfer to a 9x13 inch dish. Cover and refrigerate until partially set, about 1 hour.

For topping, in a small mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Carefully spread over gelatin; sprinkle with nuts. Cover and refrigerate until firm.

And yet another.

1 large pack grape or blueberry jello
1 ¾ cups boiling water
20 oz can crushed pineapple
20 oz can blueberry pie filling
½ cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
½ cup sugar
½ cup sour cream
8oz cream cheese, softened

Preparation:

Dissolve the jello in the boiling water in a 9 x 13 inch glass dish and let it cool.

Add the pie filling and pineapple (with the juice) to the jello and let this jello salad chill until it has set.

To make the topping, beat the cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, and vanilla until smooth.

Spread the topping over the jello salad and sprinkle the chopped nuts on the top.
