I was just wondering 1) if the floral was too cottagey for my farmhouse (nothing cottage on the inside) and 2) how much yardage I would need - throw pillows only, or seat cushion(s) as well?

Yardage depends on the width of your fabric and if you'll overlap the back or zipper them for easy removal.

Yes, the depth of the seat is 18" so I need more than a yard for a settee cushion - but should I make a settee cushion? Two? What about chair cushion(s)(need a yard for each of them)? Or just throw pillows? Shipping is the same for 1 yard or 6, just need to figure if I should order 1, 3, or 6 yards? It's 54" wide so one width will do length of settee, I'll fold the front and velcro the back.

I have this cute little pressed-cane table with fluted legs I've been dragging around 20 years - it's dark, needs a finish since it's just dyed. I don't want to paint it white since I may eventually paint the seating dark, but right now I just don't have time to paint all these, and they've been fairly recently painted (except the GW settee). I think I can live with the slightly chippy look a while til they need painting. Esp. if I use washed soft faded fabrics.

If you are sure the width will work for the length of the settee then you need to measure around the cushion adding double of what you'd need to overlap where the Velcro will attach. As for chair cushions you'll have to measure all the way around and decide how you want to go about cutting the fabric so the prints will all face the same way.

The settees are 38" and 40" long seats, 18" deep, and I'll use 3-4" thick padding. Chair cushions (if I don't use the 18" square pillows) are 18x17 (and probably 3" thick) and 16x17, so would cut the 54" wide fabric in half (or thirds), again fold the front (for seat) and velcro the back so pattern would be facing the same way as settee cushion.

So, the question is, should I make 1 or 2 settee cushions out of the floral? Or use the muslin for the seats and just use the floral for (big?) throw/back pillows? One chair cushion (with a throw pillow for the back) or two? I'm wondering if the big seat cushions should be neutral, maybe do 1 chair cushion in floral and just some throw pillows, incl some pretty big (18x20?) ones for the settees? I have quite a bit of the muslin (forget I measured it when I bought it, something like 54" wide x 3 yds), and if the 18" square pillows work for the chairs then I really don't need that much of the floral.

Do you remember what I said about using egg crate or other foam mattress toppers? Check to make sure that's not a better buy. Not sure how prices have changed since I last bought foam.
As for where to put what fabric, I've mixed feelings. Using the muslin for the seats and floral for the pillows would allow you to easily make color changes if you're one that likes change. If not I like the idea of the floral for the seats and as a border like the flange in the pillow you linked to. Though I'd probably want a larger flange.

Actually, I was going to use the pillows as seat cushions for the chairs - at $7 each it's cheaper than making them! The color band is linen, I don't know why they can't show it - they don't have any more sage. Then I'd just have to make seat cushions for the settees and throw pillows for the backs.

I haven't even started looking for foam yet. I do have 2 big bags of polyfil for pillows.

Oh, I must have missed about the price of those pillows Shelly. When I first started replying I had the worst allergy headache from the dust from a couple lamps I found on clearance. If I'd only realized they were so dusty I'd have been more careful with them. When the dust flies I don't sneeze, I get severe pain across my face in my sinuses. Allergist says that's very rare. Lucky me! If my eyes were good enough I'd have seen the dust before picking them up. I do like them though. I'll have to share them later. Probably Monday. We're busy all weekend. Not sure I'll have time for the computer.
The pillows sound great for cushions. I've done that before myself.
