Curled up leaves could indicate overwatering. The roots need to become dry before watering/feeding. What kind of nutrients do you use?

I'm going to have to start some Everglades tomatoes. I've had dismal tomato luck for the last few years, here and on the Cape.... Hi Carol, I grew yellow currant tomatoes this fall and they have been just as prolific and tasty as the Everglades...if you want I'll send you some seeds for them, more color for your salads ;-) Darn it...late to the cucumber party again! Not really SPF, now's the time for us here in Zone 10 to start cukes for our traditional spring season. I'm just realizing that it may be possible for me to grow cukes here year around since these are hanging on so long and I've actually experienced that with okra. ...I've got my spring ones just sprouted and have high hopes for this coming season.... I have plenty of seeds but you're so close to the water that even spraying weekly you'd lose the battle quickly to pickle worm since you have no screened area with filtered sunlight. :-( ....The sweet baby girls are growing nicely, btw, thank you so much for the seed! It might just be too warm!! Go figure!! My tomatoes were planted in May and because my greenhouse was too warm throughout the summer they are just starting to ripen now. When temperatures exceed 85 to 90 F, the ripening process slows significantly or even stops."

Yes, ditnc... I SWEAR they're sneering at me, going "Neener neener boo boo, look at us!" and waggling their little green corolla thingies at me and laughing maniacally all the while! They're little debbils, you know. Robeb-- we've been good and warm for a while now, though not yet as hot as we're going to get. Dallas gets HOT hot and we've "only" been in the 90's this past week, upper 80's for several weeks so I wonder if it's too hot now for the color pigments to form. I read somewhere that the carotenes and lycopenes (the orange and red pigments) don't form if it's above about 85F and we've certainly been above that. Maybe that's true? I'll give it two more weeks and if nothing happens... I guess I'll get them off of there so that others can do their thing. I have more babies coming in, too. Oh, and I found my first little bitty Beefsteaks just this afternoon. The blossoms were definite doubles, and the tomatoes look to be the result of that. Hmmm-- maybe I'll see if I can grow me a few "giants".
