Would there be enough room to put the bed centered against the long wall where the long dresser is now, with the tall dresser flat against the wall opposite the bed on the left, and the long dresser flat against the opposite wall to the right? That way you would have room for the nightstand beside the bed and nothing would need to be angled.

If the furniture could be repositioned this way, it seems like there would be more room.

It surprises me that you haven't had any more feedback from others with your questions. Maybe a second comment will get some follow up going for you. Another reason for my suggestion of furniture repositioning was so that you would have it in the accustomed places and not have all those electrical cords visible, stretched to reach lamps and electronics. The way the dressers are positioned now, none are located close to the plugs.

Given that it's a guest room, is it necessary to have 2 dressers in the room? It seems if you eliminated the long dresser completely you could then center the bed on the window wall where it is now with the nightstands flanking. Perhaps move the chair to where the long dresser sits now...further away from the footboard?

Our MB is only 10' wide and we only have 2 l/2' between the bed and walls...our closet entry would seem to be where your bath entry is. Not tons of room but it works fine.

I think what bothers me is that the wide window behind the bed is all white competing with the bed and making it look like the bed is off kilter. If you do want to keep the bed in this position, I would drape the windows in a fabric very near the wall color so that they disappear. In fact, I would probably drape the whole area from the window on the right to the window on the left. Also the bed looks like it needs to be centered in the angle where the walls meet, more over to the left. This said, I like angled bed placements, but not in your case. The position of the windows makes it awkward. As was said in previous posts, maybe reducing the amount of furniture in the room, would help with a more traditional placement of the bed.

The current arrangement does not appear to be the ideal solution. It looks like the bed and nightstand were just shoved aside to clean under the bed. If you are going to keep the bed angled, getting a round nightstand would be better than a square one.

Since this is a guest, room one of the wide dressers could be eliminated and the bed placed on the big wall where the dresser now sits. I do realize that guest room dressers are often used for out of season storage so maybe you prefer to have two dressers and need them.

In that case I would put drapes on the windows and put the bed in front of the window. The drapes would form a nice backdrop when closed and since the headboard is low the light and view would not be hidden when they are opened. This can look very nice. In fact some people even put up drapes behind the bed to give the illusion of a window where none exists.

With a new furniture arrangement, I would put the lamp from the tall dresser on the nightstand and eliminate the two floor lamps by the bed. A lamp on a night stand is easier for someone to use while in bed and the floor lamps look a bit cluttery next to the bed. Put one of the floor lamps next to the chair and use the other one in another room.

You have a very pretty room and I love your mix of furniture styles without going all "Shabby Chic" overload. I love your bold choice of wall color too.

I'm kinda guessing at the size of the room, but could something like this work for you? Or could you move the tall dresser to flat on the entry wall where I've placed the chair? Then place the chair in the other corner of the headboard wall. And move the nightstand to the other side of the bed?

nanny2a~ I do like the idea of putting it on the wall like you mentioned but the promlem is that when you walk into the room you literally would be walking right into the bed so that might be awkward and I feel it might make the room feel really small? I do agree that it looks bad with the electrical cords showing though!

jant~ I had also thought of losing one of the dressers. I could use the longer one somewhere else in the house. Hmmm...not sure why I never thought of just positioning the bed centered on that window, I will have to check to see if it's possible to still get into that door if I do that! That may be the answer.

monablair~ that's very close, thanks! The room is actually a little longer vertical wise and the window on the side is one full window like the back window but close enough to get the idea. I will have to look at the room again and see if it would work with the bed centered on the window and the dresser there. There isn't that much room though beteween the furniture, I do know that but at least I get the idea.
Oh, my DH is going to love me for making him move the furniture around again, lol!
