Substitute soy milk and Silk cream for Lactose Intolerance?

I tried a cream of mushroom recipe for the first time using part milk and part cream (I felt guilty using 100% cream, so went with the 50/50 mix), but had problems with lactose intolerance. Other than that I found the recipe to be utterly delicious!!!

Will substituting soy milk and a soy based creamer (Silk brand for instance), alter the taste of this and or other recipes that call for regular milk?
