I just seen an informercial about this and was intrigued. Anyone actually have one? What do you think? Of course they make every thing look great, but they always do right? LOL.

I ordered one but had second thoughts about spending the money when I already have a gas oven, microwave, slow cooker, outdoor barbeque, and toaster oven. I don't need another cooking gadget.

The one I'm considering is on mercola.com. It doesn't have the infrared or halogen like one in an infomercial, but that may just by hype and they cost more. I'd just like to hear from someone who has used one before I jump into it.

I'll be getting rid of another appliance, so I don't have to feel guilty about getting another one. :)

I have a similar unit. Probably had it for 10-15 years at least. I leave it out and use it a lot. I like it for quick cooking of things. I'll use it for cooking bacon, browning ribs before slow-cooking them and it's far better than the microwave for things like Pizza Rolls. No preheating and set it for 6 minutes and they're done perfectly. With the convection fan, it does cause problems if you try to use shredded cheese, for example or for batter type things. But I've made meatloaf in it, garlic bread, etc. I've never tried using the top on a frypan on the stove like they say you can nor have I tried making chili or soup. I've made things like tater tot hotdish in a round cakepan though. A 9x9 pan won't fit in mine but the round cakepans work fine. I often line it or set things on foil. I've cooked burgers, sausage and the like in it but all in all I like the microwave for sausage though, at least most of the time.

I bought mine at Walmart and I think it was around $20 or so. I've been looking at the ones with halogen and skeptical about them too. One thing I've determined though, I don't like the design on the unit that sits over everything, I prefer the one that is more of a big bowl with a lid. I look at the infomercials and they have to use both hands to remove the top, then find a place to set the top. With mine, I can pick up the lid and when you lift the handle up it turns it off, then I can hold it in one hand, flip or stir the contents and put the lid back on. I think the other would be very inconvenient.

Oh, I did try dry cooking shelled eggs in it like they said you could do. It probably would work fine, but I overcooked those things soooooo much! Haven't tried it since!
