DS's wedding cake

Thought you might like to see a pic of the cake at DS's wedding last Saturday. It is a duplicate of the one he made for his final in Baking and Pastry in high school in 2006. Even in size. They filled out the rest of what was needed in cup cakes. The kids met over making cookies!
The cake was made by the bakery he now works for. The wedding was a huge success. The menu was cabbage rolls, chicken, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, macaroni salad, and rolls.

She is Brittney Spears' sister. Very pretty cake. My sister's MIL made wedding cakes. She made her son a chocolate grooms cake. Did you ever see the movie Steel Magnolias? In the wedding scene there's a red velvet covered with brown icing armadillo grooms cake. lol (That looks like an autopsy)

oooo jacaranda's are my fav flowering tree! i'd plan a wedding around their bloom period lol. i planned our own wedding around the rose and camellia gardens at Leu Gardens where we got married at the fountains and had our reception in the main house. hopefully the weather works for them. i spent 2 yrs researching weather and what was in bloom at the gardens and what colors/types of flowers i could have at the wedding! our's went off perfectly w/ tons of planning lol ~ liz Here is a link that might be useful: leu gardens

Congratulations to your DS and the bride, and to the happy parents, especially you!

The menu sounds yummy too, I love it when wedding guests get something besides baked chicken and that stuff they call roast beef.

I also noticed that the black and white theme is continuing, Ashley and Nikki both had black and white weddings and now this one.

That is gorgeous, double gorgeous. And those cupcakes are so pretty they don't even look real! What talent and skill.

The menu sounds delish and it's wonderful that the wedding was enjoyed. Congrats to you and your families.

The cake was plain white with chocolate mousse between layers. The wedding colors were actually champaign and burgundy, but they wanted "his" cake. Not only were the cupcakes easier to eat, but they were way cheaper too! And yes they were real. The bakery that made them has been voted best bakery in the US, especially for Pazcki's (pronounced poonchki's for those of you who are not Polish), which are a type of Polish donut that is filled with various traditional flavors such as prune, rose, apricot, and I forget what else. I like the plain ones. This is where DS works now. When he was taking Baking and Pastry in high school, this is the bakery he dreamed of working in. They did an awesome job, and the boss himself did the delivery and set up!
