diggerb, Thanks for the idea of going to ohio valley gardening, funny, I always thought of that being the southern area of Ohio, WVa, TN and such...I had seen a posting about the big swap in May and thought about going but I am just not sure if I will be able to. I am supposed to be going back to PA for a few days to do some clean-up at the old place. I used to host the spring swap in the area and LOVED doing it, but have very little room for plants here, and afraid I will get depressed with all those plants around needing good homes! I lived in Akron for 7 years before moving to PA, I was in west Akron, not far from Highland Sq., you far from there? Gerry

Juellie, glad you agree! I don't routinely watch Dancing, but I did watch the whole season Apolo Ohno was on, mainly because I'd seen him and gotten his autograph for my daughter at a convention I was at. He is the neatest kid, and it was fun to see him win. Hope we see the same of DD. The athletes usually do pretty well. They can move their bodies well and have the discipline and stamina for the practice and workouts.

Brooke is playing the sympathy card. Think about it. This is the entertainment industry -- they always have a contract. If Brooke's contract did not include this upcoming season and she hadn't been in negotiations to extend the contract, then she shouldn't have expected to be returning, especially so close to the start of the new season. If she had been in contract negotiations, she should have had enough sense to realize that the negotiations weren't going her way, and she shouldn't have expected to be returning, especially so close to the start of the new season. And, if she actually had a new contract for this season and then ABC opted to cancel the contract, then she has nothing* to complain about because the contract would have included a buy-out which means she would have been paid a handsome sum of money for being let go. *The only thing she could possibly complain about is if her agent and/or manager had negotiated a contract that didn't include a buy-out clause; and if that's the case, her complaining should be against/about her manager and/or agent. Not the network, not the show itself.
