Can I substitute corned beef for ham in soup recipes?

I have a big cooked corned beef brisket I would like to find another way of using, besides as leftovers. I want to make soup for dinner tonight. Can I use this in any soup recipe that calls for ham? Or will something be different, in a bad way, about the taste? I was thinking about making a soup with white beans (like great northern), potatoes (plus usual bean soup ingredients) and some of the cut up corned beef. Or lentil or black bean soup : not sure how that would taste, though. I have a beer cheese soup recipe too. Cheese soup and corned beef together: not sure about that.

Apart from sandwiches (which my husband would never consider dinner), any other idea to use corned beef? We are empty nesters now, even a small corned beef brisket used to be inhaled. Now, it doesn't even look like we ate any of it. Thanks!
