What a wonderfully thought out house. I like that the guest room can accommodate a health aide, in the future. Something like that can extend the amount of time one can maintain some form of relative independence in one's own home. We're also building an empty-nester house & we could have reduced the footprint of the house by putting all of the "guest" bedrooms in the lower level (unfinished, for now). However, we chose to generously size the room and include an en suite bath so that whoever may need to stay there for a more extended period than the occasional guest would be comfortable. Even if we don't have a health aide, there may come a time when one of us needs extra equipment (hospital type bed, oxygen, etc.) so it will be nice if the other can rest more comfortably in another room while still being within calling distance. In case you haven't voted because you think I'm way out in the lead and your vote isn't necessary, think again! I would love your vote. I promise that we will decide how to install the tile as a group! We discovered the other night that we could vote from iTouches/ iPhones and Nooks and Kindles! There is something wrong with that site. I voted for you. Score was: her 419 you 400. I turned my chair and voted from my other computer. Her score is now 420 yours is 400. So I went back to the other computer, voted again and the score is now 422/400. I wasn't taught the "new math" so that might explain why I can't figure out why voting for you made her vote tally go up. anyone?????

Just in case anyone is interested, below are a couple of more descriptive images showing the traditional "Hopi maiden" ceremonial dress. I also found this, describing the hairstyle: Women had long hair, but marriageable girls wore their hair twisted up into large whorls on either side of their heads. These whorls represented the squash blossom, which was a symbol of fertility. This hairstyle is still worn by unmarried Hopi girls but due to the amount of time required to create it, the style is reserved for ceremonial occasions. The hairstyle for married women was either loose or in braids. (I wish I had enough hair to do that with! ;-D) I hope I'm not boring anyone ... I find this stuff fascinating!
