Halloween treat ideas needed

Help, I don't have time to make elaborate cookies and fancy stuff and my daughter just begged me to help her and her friends out with some Halloween themed food for their party tomorrow night.

I need some quick easy treat ideas for 28 hungry high schoolers

Here's what I have so far and it's not much :)

Witches poop (I'm going to try this from Linda C - carmelized Cheetohs) and Brownies with Ghost's (marshamllows)

For quick and easy, buy refrigerated breadsticks and cut each end a bit and twist ends to look like bones, season as you wish and bake - serve with warm spag or pizza sauce and you have bones with blood, cut up hot dogs lengthwise in 4-6 slices and put in crock pot with bbq sauce and serve on bun - bloody worm sandwiches - spider crackers, use ritz or other round cracker, and pb or cheese spread, straight pretzels, put pb on one cracker, stick 4 pretzels on each side for legs, put top on, then attach 2 raisin eyes on front w/ pb or cheese. You can make jello jiggler cut outs. Cut tortillas or pita with cookie cutter in bat shape and serve with "blood" sauce or veggie dip - take carrot sticks and make a little groove on end and shape a "fingernail" out of radish or red pepper and adhere with dip or cream cheese for witches fingers - another way is to use pretzel rods and melt white or dark chocolate on half of stick and add cut almond on end for fingernail. Have fun!

Blue Iris, great ideas...I think I'll borrow one for tomorrow's 3rd grade "party".
I'm already doing Pumpkin muffins. (That's the healthy, we have a junkfood policy at our school.) However, on certain times we (parent volunteers) get away with a little junk treats..LOL

jjknitter has a great idea-- and how about double stranding it along with a fairly stiff yarn to give it more body? Or crocheting it around a styrofoam blank wreath circle? (Maybe this is what jjknitter was thinking of, anyway!:-))

For the kids I know (whose parents will allow them to accept homemade treats) I made chocolate covered pretzels with fall sprinkles. Have enough for about 20 of those For the neighborhood kids--I got fruit-filled cereal bars (64 of those) And I got a bag of small boxes of 'hero sticks' (basically what we used to call candy cigarettes when I was a kid) for the gang members who show up from the city--usually groups of about 10-12, 20-something adults with maybe one or two kids, and they ALL demand a treat. I refuse to buy a lot of expensive stuff for them. Have a few extra boxes of scooter pies, etc, that I can dig into if needed. Figure I've got about enough for 120. We generally get between 100 and 150. If we run out, DH can run to the corner and pick up some additional stuff.

DH and I went as a "Chick Magnet" and a "Cereal Killer" one year. He's not into the costume thing, so I had to keep it simple. I bought construction paper and cut out chick shapes, and glued little feathers to them, then taped them all over his shirt front and back. Slicked his hair back and talked him into wearing a big 70's looking gold chain. That's all he was willing to do. I took big hoop earrings and a long thin necklace and strung them with froot loops cereal. Then got the little individual boxes of cereal, cut them open, glued a plastic knife into the center and taped them all over my shirt. Bought a tube of "white" blood and splattered it on my shirt around the boxes, and drizzled some down the corner of my mouth. It was really easy and we had so much fun.

How about some strawberry ghosts? Just dip strawberries into melted white chocolate and put dots of black icing or mini choc chips for eyes.

You can also dip Nutter Butter cookies into white chocolate, add eyes and make mummies or ghosts. My grandkids' favorite last year was peanut butter balls dipped into white chocolate and decorated with an M&M and some red icing squiggles for a bloodshot eyeball.

Canned breadsticks can be baked into finger shapes too, with a slice of almond for a fingernail and pizza sauce sa "bloody" dip.

For a drink, green slime is easy, fast, and not completely disgusting in taste. Some of the soft drink and juice mixture can be tinted green with food coloring and frozen inside a rubber glove with gummy worms, spiders or other candy "bugs" and floated in the punch bowl.

Ingredients
2 quarts lime sherbet
2 liters ginger ale
1 (46-ounce) can pineapple juice

Directions
In a punch bowl, add 2 quarts of lime sherbet. Then add ginger ale and pineapple juice. Decorate as desired.

Somebody else over here suggested mummy hotdogs. I'm dying to see what my little guy will think. They're cute as a button!

Halloween is my very favorite holiday! Now that my son is graduating from college this year, I am alone in my celebrations. DH is a grinch about Halloween-oh, I'm confusing holidays ;p I was looking at Halloween treats on RecipeZaar yesterday and thought the Tombstone Treats were really cute. Maybe cute is not what high school kids are looking for. They could assemble their own graveyard at the party!

You guys definitely came through!!! Thanks. Off to the GS to get breadstick dough, hotdogs, strawberries and sherbet. I think those will round out the menu very nicely.

I know, I know. Spinach dip with a pumpkin carved so it looks like it is throwing it up. It's gross but it's Halloween.

How about roast pork tenderloin, covered with an apricot-onion sauce. Add a few chicken wings as decoration and voilÃ : Deep fried zombie arms. Yummy.

ewww ewww ewwwwwww! those zombie arms look great!

And cookie, I love that idea of the dip. I however have had to swear that I will not adorn our table again this year with the meathead. so I will never get away with those ideas as much as I love them - LOL!

I just have to post that I've seen the threads about the caramel covered cheetos and have been horrified by the thought -- I finally made them this year because I decided I must be missing something --sorry, am I the only one who didn't become addicted to them? I didn't like them. . . .
