I got in the wreck one week ago tonight.

To be precise, seven days, two hours and six minutes ago.

I had my aches and pains but time has healed them.

I've been very careful and haven't overdone.

I haven't taken any pain medication since Thursday night.

Yesterday I noticed pain in my left leg. There is also a 'give' sometimes when I am walking. The pain is muscular but sometimes there's a twinge, like you can get in your back/spine sometime. And, there was some grinding, although not painful, going on in the knee. There is enough discomfort to interrupt my sleep at night.

I was gimping around and Custer asked what was going on.

When I did his eyes got big and said 'call your knee doctor right now'

It took me a minute to realize what he meant.

Where I am hurting is in the femur when the rods were placed

to mount the top of the new knee joint. The grinding in the joint is new too so I called.

It's been two years since I had my knee replaced.

The girl said she would move some appointments so I could get into the doctor on Tuesday. He operates on Monday or I'd be seeing him them.

Give me good thoughts about this.

I'm a little worried.

The doctor joked and told me the only restrictions I'd have after the replacement was I could skydive or bull dog steers. Neither one of us considered standing straight up on a brake while two cars ram me from the back as a 'restrictions.'

So.

I have three days to worry.

Think good thoughts for me, wouldcha?

I'd hate to think I'd might have to replace the replacement knee.....

I'm very sorry that these nurseries are closing though I did not buy from any of them. Not to sound like a vulture but are they having sales? I was robbed by Chalk Hill's going out of business sale but might be persuaded to send some last minute business their way.....

Many (((hugs))) to all of you. Have missed everyone. Thanks for sharing your lives, flowers, family, and pets. Love it! I sure would have enjoyed that plant exchange, Cindee. Our garden club has one each May. It's such fun. I, too, was not with you for the whole summer. This has been the worst ever summer time-wise. Each time I turned around, something HAD to be done. Art class ran into June (which is no good for me). Then it started again in Sept., but I told her there's just no way, so I got a two-month reprieve. Start again this coming Thursday and am taking my 15-year-old granddaughter Katie with me as a visitor. She has awesome talent and is as bad with art as we are with Hippis. I purchased another garden tractor this summer - I now have three and use them all -- there is just so much to take care of. Have also been picking up kids from school - into June this year, and come Sept. that started again. It's 1-1/2 hours r/t which really cuts into my days. Next year they will at least both be in the same school. Now I'm dog-visiting. My friend went to FL for many weeks and her husband pays me to come and be with them for an hour each day while he works. Oh, and I decided a truck would be in order, so purchased my son's 2000 black Dodge Dakota V-8 Sport. The price was right, and this will be better to carry mulch. It was hard to get with the Explorer (plus it's fun to drive). This way I can just drive up to the mulch heap and have them dump a bucket into the truck. Then I can drive it right to the garden that needs it. My days are all just cut up and I get nothing done. Lots of my plants got frosted, and the hippis were under blankets for several 30 degree days. Had some construction going on until beginning of Oct. and could barely squeeze through the furniture stacked around for probably two months. It was not a bad summer, actually a pretty good one, but it was stressful. For the most part I was healthy, and pretty much kept up with things like the 25-year-old I think I am -- not the 74-year-old that I just turned today. I neglected my orchids and many of the gardens, but the hippis grew and grew. I repotted most of them for the sake of better growing medium. I could probably exchange some orchids in the spring if I get a chance to repot. Right now they should be throwing spikes, so not a good time. Also, some Hippi bulbs. I have to say, this has been like sitting down at a nice table under some palm trees with warm breezes relaxing with a bunch of dear friends that enjoy the same things and understand eachother's obsessions. Soon we'll all be sharing tons of gorgeous pictures. I also have a bunch of bulbs coming from RC and want to order some of those on my wish list. But gotta run now and try to dig the rest of my dahlias.

MsMarion, We missed you. Glad you called. And I'm sure glad Dick feels better! There are even a couple pieces of cake left. But not for long. We did have a lot of fun. And great food. Veronika brought a delicious Czech treat, Lisa of course outshined us all with two delicious salads. A beautiful broccoli slaw and a wonderful potato salad! Not to mention a bucket of KFC! And a whole branch of delicious bananas. We ordered pizza too! Nice wine and hummus and pita, brownies, and more. Just hanging out was the best. Somebody please bring Marion a Black Sapote. Zeiss 'individual' lenses--I want to SCREAM!

J.R. I just got my Zeiss HD2 progressive lenses. Suppose to have a much wider field of view and better vertical progression for computing and reading comfort. Actually turned out to have as small or smaller width and vertical progression than my three year old glasses. I have had similar results from all of my progressive lenses and I guess Zeiss feels that if they tell you something it will work. I am Taking them back within the first two hours and getting my money back. I really don't think they are as good as my old ones. I have had lots of progessives and there is no fit or other problem here. It is just the same or has worse limitations as all progressives and that is not what I was promised. ZEISS THESE ARE NOT AN IMPROVEMENT and $400.00 is a lot of money for no improvement.

As I started reading I was thinking good gosh I hope this is NOT her knee she has had fixed!!!!

It does take a few days sometimes for what you think is the worst pain (your neck in your case)to subside before you notice other aches,pains and things!!

Gol dang it anyway!!!

You're certainly doing the right thing by getting it checked out as soon as possible.

Don't forget--you really need to have your lawyer in on this, too. It's SO much easier if they're involved from the beginning, rather than having to sort things out after several months. And given the timing, if there is a problem, it's almost got to be related to the accident.

Hoping it's nothing serious, and you'll be feeling better soon. Good luck

Good advice from azzalea. I hope you don't have any more pain between now and Tuesday. A lot of times injuries don't show up right away after an accident, at least I've been told. Try not to worry and stay off that leg as much as possible (I'm playing doctor). Praying your weather straightens up before Tuesday so you don't have a problem getting to the doctor.

We have excellent health insurance through the mine as well as a Personal Injury Policy with our auto policy. Paying for medical is not a worry...now.

I called my insurance adjustor right after I talked to the nurse. His instructions are to bill any medical claims to them (allied-nationwide) and not use our medical insurance.

The adjuster for the guy who ran into me is also asking for our medical bills too. Is he kidding? I guess I sound stupid on the phone or something...I don't think so.I let our insurance know about this right away. I'm to refer any other insurance companies to him.

So far the only thing I think we may have trouble with is getting my car fixed. When I left the scene the back bumper was intact but the trunk would not close fully. A half mile down the road the bumper fell off and dragged on the tire until I could a bungee cord and tie it up. THIS is where I may need a lawyer.

Patti43 is right. Nothing much was hurting until Sunday morning and new aches were still showing up on Monday and Tuesday. Here I was worried I'd broken a collar bone. Who knew it would hurt my knee?

Lori, so sorry to hear this. Sending good thoughts and prayers.

Please start keeping detailed daily notes on how you are feeling. Also, please check with an attorney. You don't know if you will always have excellent medical insurance. I used to have great insurance, but as times got tougher, my employer drastically reduced benefits.

I'm hoping and praying that you will be fine. I don't want to be Mrs Doom and Gloom, but as Mom used to say, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
