When is Amanda's wedding? My son's wedding is tomorrow. I'm so excited. It's in a wedding barn and the ceremony will be held outside if weather cooperates. The rehearsal dinner is tonight.

Karen, the wedding is October 16, I remember your son's is tomorrow, congratulations to him and to you and your family.

The first thing to do to post pictures is get an on-line photo account, I use photobucket, it's free. Load pictures on there, and then we can tell you how to post them.

Or send them to someone via email, like Lori sent me her wedding photos, and we'll post them for you until you figure it out!

I love seeing glimpses of your life. Sure is different in White Cloud than on Philadelphia's Main Line. Bet yours is more fun (although the guests look kind of grim -- were they waiting to be fed?).

Amanda sure is gorgeous. I can see where Makayla gets her good looks. I can't wait to hear details of the Bachelorette Party.

LOL, Dedtired, they were playing shower games. Yup, my whole family feels the same way about games as I do, they all hate them. I should have just skipped games, given out some small "party favor" to eveyone, fed them all, let Amanda open the gifts and then get the heck out of there!

This particular game was "How well do you know the bride". Questions about her eye color, middle name, how she met Dave and whether she has a birthmark. It was an overwhelming failure, LOL, and made me realize that I don't know a single family member that likes to play games of any type. Heck, most of them don't even play cards, me included!

It sounds like a great time, except for the games - I'd look grim at that point too. But I know that everyone had a good time overall and that the food was outstanding.

Annie, your family does throw the best parties! I always love the recaps, but I'm a little disappointed there were no shenanigans!

Okay, now I get it. I'd be looking grim too if someone made me play a party game. I usually disappear when that activity starts at a wedding or baby shower. You should have lickered 'em up a bit and they would have gotten right into it.

The last shower game I remember was a race to see who could put a diaper on a stuffed animal the fastest. It resulted in a pile of wasted disposable diapers and all I could think was that there was some poor mom who would have been happy to have those.

At least Amanda looks happy and that's what counts.

That cake looks great as do the peanut butter tarts with the nutella filling. YUM! Fuzzy pink hand cuffs and shot guns...LOL...I bet the boys had a great time. I'm more than sure Ashley has something great and wild planned for the Amanda and her friends. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that one.

Michael, since I made your recipe that first time, it's the one that both Amanda and Makayla want. Bruvver loves it too, but he's a heathen, he'll eat other recipes. The women, they love you. (gring) And your mac and cheese.

Beth's Lemon Cake recipe please! :-)

RR, that's Ashley sitting on the floor in front of Makayla, with her hair back and the black sweater! She's letting her hair grow, so she just pulled it back.

The cake was excellent, especially with the topping, which ran down and made the bottom of the cake sour/sweet and kind of crunchy. Yummy, and the guys swiped the leftovers for the bachelor party. I guess it went OK with beer and Jack Daniels, LOL.

Glazed Lemon Sour Cream Cake
From The California Cook cookbook
Serves 8-10

Note this cake may be prepared up to 3 days in advance, and kept at room temperature, tightly covered. The cake can also be wrapped tightly in aluminum foil and frozen for up to 2 months. Serve with seasonal berries and a dollop of whipped cream.

Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs at room temperature
1 Tablespoon minced lemon zest
2 teaspoons lemon extract
1 cup sour cream

Glaze:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup strained fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons finely chopped lemon zest

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9-inch lightweight Bundt pan. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda together in a medium mixing bowl. Set aside.
2. In a medium bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed, or in a food processor fitted with the metal blade, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Beat in the eggs, zest, and lemon extract and mix for 2 minutes.
3. Reduce the mixer to the lowest speed, add half the flour mixture, and mix until well combined. Add half the sour cream, mixing constantly, and then add the rest of the flour and sour cream, ending with the sour cream.
4. Pour the mixture into the prepared Bundt pan, and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a cake rack. Make the glaze.
5. Using a wire strainer, sift the powdered sugar into a small non-aluminum bowl. Add the juice and lemon zest, and whisk to break up any clumps.
6. Place the cake on a wax paper-lined rimmed baking sheet. Using a long skewer, poke holes in the cake almost going through the bottom at 1-inch intervals. Slowly pour the glaze over the cake, making sure it�s absorbed as you pour. Let the cake come to room temperature.
