How many made a snow angel in all this white stuff?

I walked over to Walmart for a tomato and some green onions for my recipe. Realized, how untouched my snow looked, and made a snow angel.

Anyone else made one on purpose? (I mean, not because they fell down)

Not me, I'm sick of all the snow.But I did fall a couple weeks ago, sprained my knee and wrist. Darn snow and ice.

I have but it has been many years. Good for you for enjoying a sweet impulse. i bet it was fun!!
A funny true story = When our Gr-daughter was about 5, our late son, Brian made a snow angel, told Amber, see, I made am angel in the snow. She looked at the pattern he had made and said....Now make a dog.

Hmmm, I think we should be over in conversations with the way this thread is going but....I'll suffer my 6 lashes with a wet noodle for adding my two cents. Indian Fry Bread, I wonder if that's the same as the bread made by making a dough out of flour and oil, rolled into a small ball, flattened, then deep fried. It puffs up when it's cooked. This little restaurant we go to served this with a Chickpea curry one day, Annette with her forward ways ended up in the kitchen watching how the bread was made. boy, did we ever! ~~ if you could have seen the three-car crash we were in, you would have thought deaths were involved ~~ so frightening ~ we live in the northern suburbs of chicago, but we all go to galena for christmas ~ the bad driving conditions were forecast & we *were* nervous, but that's pretty much the scenario EVERY year ~ & we DO really have such a wonderful time ~ anyway, an UNINSURED nineteen-year-old lost control of her car; our daughter couldn't chose to go into the ditch cuz we were under a cement underpass; so when stacey hit the car it was thrown across the highway where we had gone to try to avoid the crash (thank goodness, there was no oncoming traffic at the time!!)~~ my eyes were closed the whole time, cuz when i heard my husband scream NOOOOOOO & i looked up; saw we would never be able to avoid her; i simply could not bear to watch! ~~ when i opened my eyes & found myself unharmed & alive (thanks to the airbags)~ but i was trapped in the car cuz the ditch was very deep & my door was wedged into the snowbank ~ my husband went flying up the steep ditch to check on stacey & her family ~~ BTW everyone was driving way below the speed limit; however, a car sliding on ice is close to impossible to stop ~ the girl was issued 3 tickets ~ anyway, miracle of miracles, we were all unscathed; & five hours later were back on our way to galena with two rentals joining the two cars that were not involved in the crash ~ we are back home now; but the two cars are in rockford awaiting the decision by state farm if they can be fixed ~~ phyl, from chicago who is so grateful it was not worse!

SaltLife, happy to answer your questions about Artistic Tile…there is a wide range of prices. From the ones that I priced out, they were anywhere from $20 to over $200 (ouch!) per SF. I love Arpell - it was one of the ones on my “short list” - it was around $100. The waterjet is definitely their higher priced line. Others are much less - for example, the glass Coltrane Treble Gloss mosaic pattern was around $25/SF, and very pretty. We chose a waterjet mosaic (Veneto), but it was (well) under $100 - a splurge for me, but love, love it. I should mention that our designer was passing along her discount of up to 25% on the retail pricing. So, I guess the bottom line is you shouldn’t rule out Artistic Tile because of price - they do have some relatively reasonable options! Also, if you haven’t already looked at New Ravenna, they have beautiful patterns, too. And they have a quick ship line that is less pricey. Good luck!

"Just wait until you have to pack up all that crap and move it." My SIL just bought a retirement home so they are decluttering their current house as a preparation for selling it--she keeps telling me she can't believe how much STUFF she's got to get rid of. When I go to their house I always admire how it looks nicely organized and without extraneous things all over. However, I also admire her tons of closets and storage space which she says leads to keeping, you guessed it, all that stuff LOL. I've decided I will play a mental game this summer and pretend we have to move; maybe that will be my motivation to get rid of much unnecessary and unused stuff in our house! I use the holidays and shopping for gifts to satisfy any yen I may have to be a retail hunter/gatherer. The past few years I increasingly feel as if I am gorging myself after staying on a careful and healthy diet; by the time January comes I feel so psychically bloated from all the shopping /buying that I need another year to rest up and recover! It's interesting to me to watch my young adult daughter who is setting up her first home. She loveslovesloves Home Goods, Marshalls, Pier 1 etc. And when I go with her I usually find stuff I could easily buy. I have a rule that I can't take anything from those places home the day I see it. That usually short circuits the purchase, I'm rarely motivated enough to fight the traffic and crowds to go back a second time!

What a delightful story!

Good for you, Moni, I have not, I'm afraid that if I got down that I might not get back up!

It is so sad around here. All the snow we have had in the past 2 years and I have see ONE snowman. ONE. And I have not seen one group of kids sledding or tubing.

isn't it just too cold for the kids? maybe by the weekend they'll have enough left to play an not turn into a ice cube...

dh had me leave the heat on higher than normal..keep thinking one more day...the dripping water is driving me nutz!

I made one last year or the year before. All the Iowa winters run together in my mind. This is my 6th Iowa winter. Pretty good for a native Californian. I have only had one cold in these 6 winters.

Moni, I think your snow angel is beautiful! I didn't make one, it was just too cold, it was from 4 to 19 degrees and with the windchill it never got past -6.
We had the granddog, my son, dil and two grands were in Santa Fe skiing. I felt so sorry for the dog, he couldn't even go out and I went to their house and got his doghouse and heat lamp, but it was just to cold and he is a little dog! About every two hours I let him out for a few minutes!

Yes, it was COLD! 18 degrees. I got up, went in the house, and put other pants on. Mine were wet and cold by then. LOL

Funny you should ask. We had a foot of snow in December (most unusual for VA) and I was out with Georgy. I really had the urge to make a snow angel....the snow looked so beautiful. However, deep down I knew if I ever got down, it would be too hard to get back up and by the time I did, it wouldn't like an angel anymore. Just wishful thinking.

Lovely, Moni! Good for you for doing something spontaneous. It's sad for me to realize I don't really do fun things like that anymore. Hmm, maybe I'll have to do just a little something unexpected tomorrow. You've inspired me!

That's an awesome angel Moni! IF I tried to make one I'd mess it up trying to get myself up off the ground plus we got waaay more snow than you.. might make it tough making those wings. lol

Not me. If I made a snow angel in the snow it wouldn't look like much by the time I managed to get up. LOL

Snow? What is this white stuff you speak of? Oh, it is 10 pm and I think the temp just dropped below 70 degrees, I think I need to go put a tee shirt on instead of a tank top.

Now I remember why we moved to Phoenix, although your snow angels are beautiful!

I'm not much into snow angels. I made an awesome sand angel at the White Sands a couple of years ago. LOL!

Oh, yeah! Snow angels, snow men, snow balls, snow cats, snow forts, snow slides, snow tunnels....

Sure it's fun, but will it ever end? I'm ready for making sand angels! :)

No one around here is making snow angels. After we shovel it, push it, snow blow it, clear the sidewalk for the umpteenth time after the snow plow has gone by, unload the roof, herd our autos to the grocery store, amd fill the bird feeder, we go inside and view the snow from there. The fact that the temperature has been running in the single digits at night might be a factor, too. Kudos to those who are young enough at heart to make a snow angel.

Last night, it got so cold that the snowmobilers went inside to sip coffee and did not come back out. There was an erie stillness in that the normal buzz of a snowmobile in the distance was quieted. I looked out on the moonlit snow in my backyard and saw a deer raiding the bird feeder - again. It was so hungry that it had been eating my brush pile of trimmings that had been on a tree a month ago.
