any one here have a recipe for 'Mound' candy bars?

I used to have one..

You made the coconut filling , cut it into little squares and dip them into chocolate.

Is this it?

MOUNDS CANDY

2 (12 oz.) bags coconut
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can Eagle Brand milk
1 bar thin paraffin (1/2 inch thick)
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips or white chocolate

Mix together first 5 ingredients. Press into long pyrex dish and let chill overnight in refrigerator.
Melt wax and chocolate chips in double boiler, stirring frequently to blend.

Cut coconut mixture into 1x2 inch pieces. Top with almond and dip into chocolate mixture. Place on wax paper and let cool and refrigerate.

Could this be it?

MOUNDS BARS

5 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar
14 oz. flaked coconut
1 (24 oz.) bag semisweet chocolate chips

Blend milk and vanilla. Add sugar a little at a time until smooth. Stir in coconut. The mixture should be firm. Pat firmly into a 9x13" pan and chill until firm. Cut into bars and dip into melted chocolate and let cool on waxed paper for several hours.

I posted the dentist link on my Facebook...what a great idea! However, ours will probably go to the shelter for battered women and their children here in town. They have multiple fridges and freezers and take all sorts of things to save for use, including by the way, any excess produce/orchard fruit that would go to waste. I'm sure there are such shelters in many of our communities. Not to be holier-than-anyone-else, though.........likely, we'll eat our share!!!! :D

This one? 41/2 cup sugar 1 large can carnation milk 1/8 cup butter 2 (1lb) hershey bars 16 large marshmellows or 2 cup mini 1 large pkt. choc chips 1 T vanilla 11/2 cup chopped nuts. Mis first 3 ingredients and heat to boil, boil for 5 min,stirring constantly. Mix other items together and pour first mixture over top. Stir until smooth. Pour into 13+13 pan. Yields 5 lbs. I could be wrong but I don't think that would work since you add the other ingredients after boiling. Did you boil it the full 5 minutes? Have you refrigerated it? You might just have a rather nice chocolate sauce for ice cream, etc.

I speak from experience.....you really need the big marshmallows. The little ones are drier, there is more cornstarch on the outside and more outside....and it doesn't work. Wait until you can get the real big marshmallows. By the way....would you post that recipe? I am not sure I really know where I put my copy...and it was really good and hard to spoil fudge....if you followed directions!! LOL! Linda C

Here is one I make @ Christmas.It's really good!

~*~MOUND BARS~*~

2 c. crushed graham crackers
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted

Mix together and bake in 9x13 inch pan in 350 degree oven for 7-8 minutes. Mix 2 cups coconut with 1 can sweetened condensed milk. Spread on top of baked crust. Bake 15 minutes. Remove from oven.
Melt 1 (12 oz.) package chocolate chips . Spread on top.Cool then cut into bars.
