We did a recipe book to preserve and share our grandmother's recipes. My older sister finally took it on when I did not have the computer publishing skills she does. We named the cookbook for her family famous cookie we all remember from our childhood. We included a photocopy of one of her hand written recipes with her unique penmanship and also included several old pictures of her as well as family stories of her cooking as young wife and mother. And then we added another half of the book with family recipes that all of us have developed for our families.

I also made a family cookbook for our Family reunion way back in the mid 90's. On the cover, I drew a big tree and on each limb I put the full name of the person who had recipes in the book. Down the center of the trunk I wrote the family name "BROWN" and under it the title:
"Preserving Family Traditions"

Above each entered recipe the family member wrote a short bio of herself, her family and adding her phoneor email addy in case anyone had questions about the recipe.

I thought a play on your family name would be cute! Here's the meaning of a "bower" or "wish tree" from Wikipedia:
In parts of Yorkshire, a tree with two spreading branches which also formed a bower over the point of branching, was known as a Wish Tree by children who would climb onto the junction and make a wish.
