DWTS - possible new co-host

I read that there are 3 people they're considering to take Samantha Harris' place on DWTS. Apparently they're doing interviews and live camera auditions on them:

Melissa Rycroft

Brooke Burke

Vanessa Manillo

I would really like to see Melissa get the job. I love her!!

I like Melissa also. I didn't hear anything about a new host. I can't wait for the new season, its been too long already.

They're announcing the cast on the finale of the Bachelor, which I think is in 2 weeks.

Shirley (sjc48)and I will soon be welcoming you to the first swap for this group. She will be coordinating the group along with me! I will set up a new heading later this week introducing this group and giving people a chance to sign up for the first swap, so watch for a different heading soon. The full name will be Friends of the Earth Simple Swaps, but look for FOTE being used as an abbreviation in the heading. You will be signing up with the coordinators by sending your real name, mailing address, GardenWeb name, and e-mail address. You can do that by e-mail as soon as the new heading is posted and post to the thread, too, if you want to join in on the first swap. The reason for the request for information is that we need to know who is part of the group. Nothing other than the GardenWeb name or the first name of the person should ever be posted on the forum. The information will not be used for any other purpose. All who sign up need to be adults. Okay, so much for all of that. There will be very simple guildelines for membership and these should not impact you unless you had swaps that were not sent in the past or if you are a total newcomer to GardenWeb. The new members will be able to join if someone who is a known member agrees to be their sponsor. If we need sponsors, they will be requested on the forum. Once the new thread is started, I think the easiest thing will be if you contact either me or Shirley (the other coordinator) about membership by sending the necessary information. If you are a "newbie" tell us that. I am excited that others are sharing in this interest. My garden is doing so poorly in all this heat and lack of rain that I have missed being able to swap this year and I know many have had to cut back on swapping because of the high cost of sending packages. I am not thrilled with the new cast, makes me wonder how much longer DWTS will be on the air. The Woz will be interesting to watch. He really seems to like being in the public eye and making a fool out of himself. Such as the case when he was dating Kathy Griffin and appeared on her her D-list show every week. But I guess when you have that much money, who cares what others think lol I don't care for Denise Richards, she definitely does not have the style, grace and class that Brooke Burke brought last season. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is a good season.

Brooke is playing the sympathy card. Think about it. This is the entertainment industry -- they always have a contract. If Brooke's contract did not include this upcoming season and she hadn't been in negotiations to extend the contract, then she shouldn't have expected to be returning, especially so close to the start of the new season. If she had been in contract negotiations, she should have had enough sense to realize that the negotiations weren't going her way, and she shouldn't have expected to be returning, especially so close to the start of the new season. And, if she actually had a new contract for this season and then ABC opted to cancel the contract, then she has nothing* to complain about because the contract would have included a buy-out which means she would have been paid a handsome sum of money for being let go. *The only thing she could possibly complain about is if her agent and/or manager had negotiated a contract that didn't include a buy-out clause; and if that's the case, her complaining should be against/about her manager and/or agent. Not the network, not the show itself.

I love this show! I dont know who Cloris is but I'm tired of her already. I give her credit for doing the show but she was overbearing and it turned not so funny real quick. I can't imagine she'll last long. I had to fast forward through her dance, it was painful to watch! I feel sorry for her partner though, who by the way is a twin to his son, Mark. They even sound the same when they talk. My favorites so far are Brooke Burke (gosh she looks good for having 4 kids, one just 6 months ago - and she moves really well), Lance Bass (love Lacey, I watched her on "so you think you can dance", and love that she's more edgy than the other pros) and Rocco. His dance last night impressed me. Maurice and the football player (forgot his name) make me laugh and they do really good for how big they are. I've never been a Susan Lucci fan. And, she is way too skinny and with her big hair, she looks like she's top heavy!

Melissa or Brooke would be great as a co-host.

LOL speaking of the Bachelor...what a train wreck, but I can't look away! I saw the spoiler on who he chooses, but on all the talk shows he's been on, I get the impression he isn't with anyone. I hope I'm wrong, I'd hate to think I wasted every Monday night on him (But it sure is was fun)

After all the stuff that's come out with the "winner", I hope he realized she might not be the person she claimed to be to him. He chose her back in November. Alot's came out since then and anything could've happened since then so who knows....

I think Melissa would be great, too. She has the enthusiasm, seems nice, and doesn't have an annoying voice. I don't want to sound mean, but Samantha Harris often drove us nuts because her voice was so manly/annoying.

Brooke might be good, too, but I think Melissa's the best out of those choices.

Samantha drove me nuts too. I didn't care from her and from what I've read online, we're not alone on those thoughts. Alot of people are glad she's gone.

I think Melissa is very likeable and would do great. Brooke would be ok too but I dont like her as much, and Vanessa, I know nothing about her and haven't really seen her on tv so I don't know her personality.

Melissa Rycroft is the woman Bachelor Jason Mesnik proposed to on the last season of The Bachelor. Then, the After the Final Rose show was aired much sooner than normal, and on that show, Jason publicly dumped Melissa and got together with the other of the two final girls - Molly Maloney. Jason and Molly are now engaged and their wedding will be aired on ABC.

Melissa was then a last-minute replacement on Dancing With The Stars (had less than two days to rehearse) and was terrific.

I think she would be fantastic as Samantha Harris' replacement!!!

I'm also pulling for Melissa. She has a good personality and another plus is, she knows something about dancing. I haven't heard anything about Samantha except she is from Minnesota. Care to share the dirt? Dottie
