What's for Dinner Thursday?

Today was another glorious sunny day. Our friend and neighbour is very appreciative when we happen to take her grocery shopping when we're going. In return she'll leave soup often at our door.

There's really only one of her soups that I like, her turkey and noodle soup. The last couple, not so much.

Tonite I had her soup, tortellini with loads of cheese, and a heavy hand on the salt. Most of it went down the toilet. The last time she gave us soup, she asked how it was and I told her it was far too salty. She's a smoker so she figures that her taste buds are probably affected and she has to add more spices, to taste anything.

So I had that, with some of my cherry cheesecake.

I'm having Stouffer's escalloped chicken and noodles. I've worked my fanny off today. After I did the closets this morning, I straightened the pantry and threw out all the outdated or stale stuff. I WILL whip this place into shape. It's never cluttered--just don't open anything :-)

Sorry about your supper Sherry. I didn't fix anything for supper, just had a carton of Greek yogurt. Still winter here, snow expected tomorrow and the next day.

You need to share the citrus dressing recipe ; it sounds good. Fixed a good salad with mixed greens and all kinds of stuff, lol. Robert didn't want ginger dressing again, so I whipped up creamy green goddess type of concoction.....then put our leftover salmon from last night on top. I am going to have to get some asparagus!

Lots of variety for dinner this evening! Shirley, I love days that have no interruptions. Even days that I plan to stay home and get caught up on things, there are usually reasons to head out or someone comes over. Stuffed peppers sure sound good! Pam a BLT is good anytime. That's usually what hubby orders when we go out for breakfast (he doesn't do eggs) Angela we had corn on the cob on the weekend and nuked it with the husks on. Have you tried that? OF we were in a store today and the Halloween stuff was out along with back-to-school supplies. Rhizo, I love the sound of your dinner every time you have that! B.e. peas I doubt I would like but that would be easy to leave out. I remember you said once it was a mix that you buy. Phyllis, eating frozen grapes made me smile, then I saw the radish sandwich. I feel sorry for you LOL. Maybe we should all send you a bit of our dinners, and you'd have a feast! KIttiemom, everytime I see you having shrimp scampi I want it. But we never buy shrimp. I'm going to have to just buy a bag of frozen ones once and for all and make it. :)

Same as yesterday -- Various snacks, cheeses, hors d'oeuvres, mini sandwiches, chocolate-dipped fruits, and brownies at a Christmas party. Yesterday was a retirement party for the head of the University Library where I work, today was a shindig put on by a large realty firm at which friends of ours work.

Mimipadv......we always find that the pineapples get sweeter when we leave them on the counter for a couple of days. When they start to smell like a pineapple we cut it open. Your pork chop dinner sounds delicious. It was cold enough that I was wanting a beef roast. Party, today was definitely chili weather in your area and ours (and Gadgets') Pam what a treat, having filet mignon!! Good for you! Rhizo, I have the urge for quinoa tabbuleh and your dinner confirmed my taste buds wanting that. That's a summer dish for me. Gadgets your chicken and potato wedges sounds good to me too!

Today was movie day so I had a delicious Greek salad topped with shrimp at Panera's for lunch. For dinner I will have the leftover tuna ahi from Bonefish Tuesday night. DH has some coconut shrimp. A nice quiet evening.

Tonight was chicken noodle soup with french bread.

The sun was out today but still cold. We have so much work to do outside but it needs to warm up some before it can be done.

I had a small roast beef, quinoa w/gravy on it, and butternut squash.

Overcast and up to 30 here today in OH. They say in 40s and 50s next week. I hope it's not an early April Fools joke.

Patti, you were busy today. Now, don't wear yourself out!!!

Sue, I've never had Greek yogurt. I do like plain, vs the flavoured, and Greek is supposed to be even healthier.

Georgysmom, I love Greek salad and it's time to make it again. I've never had tuna, but shrimp sure sounds good!

Mary, chicken soup is always good, you must be sick of the cold weather, too.

Shirley, I was saying the other day that I have to make quinoa again. I must say, I'd never think of it with a roast, and with gravy on it.

I made us a couple of big Cobb salads with all the usual Cobb trimmings. As cold as it is around here, and snow still hanging around from last night, we still love our crispy salads.

Jasdip, I had a wonderful neighbor who would bring hot soups over often and they, too, were often inedible to us. I don't know if it was her smoking or the culture or just that she was a terrible cook, lol. Dear woman, though.

And boy was it busy..as was every other take out/fast food place passed.

I had the day off work due to the 13" of snow we had. So I had more time to do a little more for dinner. I made basmati rice, dal (spicy lentils), and a vegetarian curry. The spice helped warm me up after spending a few hours shoveling the snow so I could get the car out.
