I have my 8x10 "art Room" but thats just for a supply room!lol! I work in the dining room and living room! DH actually likes his 4 days of working 14hrs outta the house!ha! Then I try and clean up for a few days, but lately I've been so BAD! I've left stuff out as I am bugging him for moving near Cindy! to a rancher the same size but no land,(would loose 1/2acre) but has a sunroom that is 15x23!!!! DH is wanting to move to that lil town but that did not work out soo....I'm sooo bad, will I ever behave??!!!Closer to Cindy(5 min drive!!) AND a workshop, hey does it get any better???!!!!I'm sooo selfish! ha! BTW: I still am trying to get over the tittle of this post! I thought, OH NO! He(DH)is kicking her out for her mosaic addiction! (Too close to home!lol) Yup, it's an eye catcher of a post!!! heh heh!

She's a danger to you, & the part of your brain that is in charge of self-preservation *knows* that. There's an excellent book called "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker. The core message is that people, especially women, get beaten, stabbed, raped, shot, & murdered because we allow our "rational" brain to argue with our perceptive brain *& win*. One little exercise he does in his safety seminars is: Say you're working late in your office in a high-rise office building. You're the only one on your floor. You leave your office & lock the door & punch the button for the elevator. When it stops & the door opens, you see that there's one person inside, a man. What do you do? He says that every woman in his seminars knows the "right" answer; you don't get on that elevator. but when they discuss it a little further, almost every one of them will sheepishly admit that she'd probably look at the guy & try to figure out if he looks dangerous; then she'd realize that he knows that that's what she's doing; then she'd feel embarrassed that this no doubt perfectly nice man thinks she's the sort of person who suspects somebody without "evidence"; *& then she'd get on that elevator to show the guy that she's a nice person*. This woman is dangerous, you know it, & you keep trying to make your perfectly healthy response (terror) into something that has nothing to do with the threat she poses. This assailant "hugging" you is assault & has nothing to do with your mother. If you haven't broached this subject with your therapist, you need to do so right now, & if you have broached it & the therapist & s/he hasn't supported your healthy response to threat... get a different therapist before we hear about you on the news. The wall to the right is not structural, it's just a stud wall. There's a big LVL beam in the attic. I like the separation this stud wall provides, between the kitchen and the breakfast nook, and also the wall space (I'm learning that lots of open space and big doorways equals little room for big furniture pieces). bmorepanic - Thanks, you pointed out a lot of things I hadn't thought of. Here is a closeup of the edge of the countertop run, the CT is 1/16"-1/8" shy of the base cabinet. If I add a panel/cabinet, would I put a filler here or caulk this gap? "Be sure to remeasure your opening at floor height - because of the baseboards" -- this is if I add a standalone fridge, right? If I do something integrated, I would remove these, no? I've wondered about those... rhome410 - good question on the wall shortening. It will mess up the existing floor but I need to get my flooring guy back in for round 2 on the hardwood floors in the rest of the house; I can have him tackle this. (He's terrific; we bumped out the front of the house 5 feet and he wove in new hardwood to match the existing, did a great job). Thanks all, this has been very helpful.

I am currently shopping for replacement bar stools. We just had our kitchen redone and need to replace stools. We live at our kitchen island and never use the table unless we have guests. In my opinion, swivel is a must for a couple of different reasons. It is hard to slide a bar stool in and out because usually your feet don't hit the ground while on a stool. Swivel allows you to leave the stool stationary and just swivel in and out of the seat. It's also nice to be able to swivel to see the TV. Also having a back is nice if you plan to sit for any length of time. It's hard to buy online because you can't tell if the stool will be comfortable and return shipping on a heavy stool can break the bank. I'll keep watching the thread. Please let us know what you decide on.
