I was finally able to get out today after more than 2 wks inside. What a relief. But then I had so many errands to run that it tired me out. So I went to McDonald's and picked up broccoli cheese soup.

I really like broccoli cheese soup, wish our McDonald's around here sold it. I had a very long day with Cheryl, shopping after we took KC to be groomed. We had a very big breakfast at Bob Evan;'s so we did not eat lunch. Supper for me was a hot dog, and the piece of New York Cheesecake with strawberry sauce. I had a coupon for a birthday dessert from Fazolis.

We'll have leftovers. I made a beer braised pot roast last night and it was sooooo good! And you know how much better it will be tonight. Robert tried to take it for his lunch today, but I told him, "Hands off! ".

It was Pizza night tonight. We have become fond of a Canadian Bacon and Pineapple Pizza. I never thought Jim would eat it, but he likes it a lot.He even bakes it.

I have pork chops baking in the oven with a very light dusting of panko, and a nice wedge salad.

Gadgets grocery shopping is tiring, but we're weird, we quite enjoy it. Although, when we were looking for sun-dried tomatoes, and we looked in 3 different aisles.....condiments, international, and with the pastas. We finally found it, but also saw different jars of roasted peppers in each aisle, all different brands, prices. I hate having to do a guessing game when I want an item.

I love hot dogs. My favorites used to be Nathan's and zi would always have them when visiting Coney Island.

Has anyone tried Applegate hot fogs? They are natural without the nitrates.

More of a lurker than a poster here, but I know you're Canadian Jasdip and just wanted to say that we really like the Presidents Choice (Loblaws, Superstore) frozen baby Brussel Sprouts, they go on sale for about 2.98 for 500 grams, not bad as they are already trimmed, so no waste. Always nice and sweet. As far as dinner, Friday around here is known as Make Your Own Damn Dinner night - Mom's night off. One daughter is making a quinoa bowl with black beans, corn, salsa, avacados, lime and cilantro and she is going to make one for me!

We buy the Kirkland All Beef Signature Dogs. They are quite tasty..my boys prefer turkey/pork blend..cheaper the better in their mind..gross..lol

Applegates are okay..I like Safeways Open Nature ones better.

I went shopping after work and found avocado, asparagus, and rainbow trout on sale. So after getting home I made avocado with balsamic vinaigrette as a salad, followed by broiled trout remoulade, steamed asparagus, and a rice pilaf, with a Sauvignon blanc wine.

I have to say it all really turned out well, especially given how quick and easy it all was to make. Yum.

I made homemade wild rice chicken soup because it's so dang cold here. DH was plowing snow for 24 hours. He had some soup and went to bed. He'll get about 6 hours of sleep before he has to hit it again. This has been a very long winter for him.

I never think of frozen brussels sprouts. Might be worth a try.

I sure admire the snow plow drivers this year, and I feel sorry for them.

Recently we were hearing the plow back up, and go ahead a number of times. Overnite parking on the street isn't allowed during the winter, and especially on snow days. This guy was sick and tired of driving around this particular car, that insists on parking on the street ( we see it all the time), and he boxed him in with the snow.

Thanks. As I was shopping I literally did a double take as I saw the price of the asparagus. It is usually $3.99 to $4.99 a pound, this time it was $1.79 a pound, so I bought two big bundles.
I need to see if I can find the recipe I used last year for cream of asparagus soup.

Bob asparagus was on sale here last week for $1.97 lb....summer prices. So I bought a couple of bundles as well. I still have some left, which I'll roast for tonite's dinner.
