Our school didn't have a name, it was the Schule von Gau-Algesheim, Germany.

st stanislaus school (church was built by my great grandparents as a replica of a cathedral in Warsaw Poland) in East Chicago IN for 8 yrs. my father & all his siblings went to that grade school also. Bishop Noll Institute Hammond IN for 4 yrs of high school (both of my parents attended this high school too).

Marilyn, I have a piece of sooty brick from my HS. 2 out of the 3 buildings burned to the ground on Easter Sunday, 1959(my Freshman year) and a few of us snuck into the rubble the next day and got pieces of brick from the pile that was once our homeroom.

I attended Wayside first through 6th grades.
Junior high, 7th & 8th was Golden State Jr. High (it is now a district school office).
Freshman year in high school at Bakersfield High.
Sophomore through senior year at the brand new South High School. We were the first graduating class and now, 50 years later, we still think we are very special. Both high schools are still there.
After high school I attended Bakersfield College and got my associates degree.

- Kindergarten: View Ridge Elementary in Seattle, WA. Same school Bill Gates attended two years after me. He must have gotten a better teacher because he really excelled. LOL

- 1st-6th: Moreland Elementary, San Jose, CA. (torn down in the 70s and replaced by a seniors condo complex)

- 7th & 8th: Castro Jr. High, San Jose, CA. (name changed to Moreland Middle School)

- Freshman year: Campbell High in Campbell, CA. (beautiful old high school now closed and renovated into a community center and theater)

- Sophomore thru senior year: Prospect High in Saratoga, CA. Prospect was a brand new school the year I started there. My DH was in the very first graduating class in 1969. I graduated in '71.

12th grade: still EHS but in a new building, still 9 - 12th grades.

Wells School, a one-room country grade school. The school was integrated with 3 other schools about 2 years after I graduated from it. Today, there is not a trace of the school. The one acre school ground has been re-attached to the farm field.

We moved a lot when I was a kid. Let me see if I can remember.
Hawthorne Christian, Oka Elementary, Lemay Street Elementary, Santa Ana Elementary, Eader Middle School, a junior high I can not recall the name of right now, Fountain Valley High School and finally Irvine High. Whew, that is a lot. I went to Oka at least 3 different times too.

I started at L&M School, Lyons, Indiana it was 1-12..no kindergarten...

In 8th grade we moved and I went to SunnySide Junior High for 8th and 9th grades...then on to Jefferson High, Lafayette, In for 10-12th grades...

Cassia Florida, 1st grade, no kindergarten in those days.
This was a 2 room school, 1st thru 8th, don't think
the school had a name actually.

Boise, Idaho, don't remember the name, attended about half of the 2nd grade, then we moved back to Cassia Fl. and bus wouldn't come out as far as we lived and my aunt home schooled my and my brother for several months, then we moved to

Tampa Florida. Finished the 2nd grade and 3rd grade, then....

to Paola Florida for 4th and most of 5th grade, another 2 room school, 1st thru 8th. Moved to Mankato, Mn....

Finished 5th grade at a church school, all of the 6th and once again moved back to Cassia Florida and again the bus wouldn't come to where we lived.
My mother sent to Mn. for my books and assignments from the church school and I homeschooled nearly all the 7th grade. The last month of 7th grade we moved back to Mn as my GF was very ill. After he died we returned to Cassia and when I started the 8th grade and now the bus came out to our house, only because my cousin was dating the bus driver and her little girl was starting kindergarten.

Attended Eustis, Fl high school for 8th thru the 10th grade.

Moved to Watsonville, Ca and completed my Jr. and Sr. years and graduated in 1955.

We moved to Porterville, I got married, had 3 kids, and when youngest was in kindergarten, I returned to college, College of the Sequoias at Visalia, Ca, and graduated with my RN degree in 1978.

Fairview Elementary (K-8) and then Union High in Grand Rapids, MI. Both brothers went to Union and I was the last of our family to attend there. Sister got to go to new high school down the road from where we lived.

Old high school was located next to a freeway and you could see it from almost any window in the school. I thought for sure they'd tear it down once the new high school was completed, but kept it as an administrative building. Last time I was home was shocked to see it had been turned into condos! I can only image what it must have cost to convert that building as it was three stories high and all those classrooms.

I can't image living there next to the freeway and with no garage and only off street parking. The neighborhood wasn't that great when I was a kid and didn't look much better when I saw it last.

Maine Township H.S. -- During my junior and senior years we were on double shifts. My senior class was nearly 1000. The year I left for college the township opened a second school (West), and a bit later a third (North), and finally one I could have walked to from my home: Maine South.

All of the above are still functioning schools except Maine North.

All in Athens, GA and all are still standing and active schools. Since I graduated in 1967, you can imagine how old the all are.

I went to one school, grade 1 - 12 and it was just named after the town...Friendswood.

Nice pictures Ron. The first picture is similar to the school building we bought and turned into an antiques mall a few years back. Our building isn't quite as wide, but the same style.

I attended (Public) School 61 in Buffalo NY. There were separate entrances for boys and girls. Geez,I never thought you could get pregnant by walking in the same door as the boys.

Hey, Jannie, the building we bought, one stairway was for the boys and the other the girls too. I'll bet the boys were just too rough and wanted to run up those stairs! :) Same way with the cloak rooms, boys had one and the girls had the other. It was not that way in the school I went to.

I went to Geneva high Scool all 12 years. The year after I graduated we consolidated with the rival school. They used the building for a middle school and elementary school until they tore it down 2 years ago. They now have a big new high school and use the rivals schools for the middle school and elementary school.

DH attended his 40th reunion at Campbell High last October. This is the school he and I attended before our new high school was built.

This is a photo of the renovated Campbell High theater which sits facing a busy main street. It closed as a high school some time in the 70s. They did a beautiful job restoring the entire campus. We took 40th reunion class photos on those steps during the reunion.

This is the old high school auditorium now made into a community theater. I spend many hours in this auditorium because a drama class I took as a freshman was held in it.

I attended Norfork (Arkansas) Elementary, Junior, and High Schools. All three were in the same complex. 1961-1974. I just barely remember attending a kindergarten for the few months I lived with Mom in Kansas City, MO. I moved back to Grandma's to start 1st grade.

The stone buildings (grand and beautiful relics from the CCC days) are still there, but most are now in a sad condition. The beautiful tall windows were boarded in; the hardwood floors covered with vinyl; the 15-20 ft. ceilings lowered, all in the cheapest materials possible. Various groups and organizations have used the buildings since their school days.

The schools have all moved a few miles south and are housed in sterile, boxy, metal buildings.

I attended one year of college at The School of the Ozarks, in Branson, MO., (now called College of the Ozarks). My mother attended all four years of her high school here and graduated in 1954.

I took various classes and credits through University of Arkansas and Community College of the Air Force. Not quite a full degree though.

Our former high school gym has not suffered. It's now the Boys and Girls Club. I tried to play basketball on this floor; our consession stand was to the right in the alcove. I flirted with boys outside the gym. I graduated on this stage.

I haven't seen the inside of this building in 30+ years. I burst into tears when I "found" it on line. I look at this and I can hear my friends' voices; I can smell the varnish.

The lights are new, and the old board ceiling has been painted but it's still "the gym."

The covered entrance, and the deck are new, but they're not too bad.

I used to date a guy who went to St Stans, of course, he was going to Roosevelt at the time........small world

I always envied kids who knew each other from elementary school on.

Well, I'm almost 81 years old and we had a kindergarten in the town I lived in. I started out in kindergarten at Janes School. Then we moved to the country, no kindergarten there, so the teacher put me into first grade at Bartlett School, which is why I graduated from high school when I was 17.

I guess I should have read the first comment better.

Continuing my list of schools:
