I wish I had a loveseat in MY craft room, I could use it as a fainting couch when I'm overcome with bits of thread and complicated instructions on a project! And I love the bold colors of it, even though I lean more towards blue based purples. Boy, this is hard. Personally, I think the 2 colors of purple don't work that well together. For me, it would be bothersome, but I like things to be pretty matchy-matchy. The only way I see it working is if you find some fabric that has your 2 colors in it and use it for pillows, drapes, etc. Or paint the room a more neutral color, even an aqua blue would work, in my mind. Maybe if you had a color wheel in front of you, you could pick some complimentary colors more easily. Even a sage green would be lovely. All that said- it's your room! Your dream sewing room and it should be what you want and you shouldn't have to settle for anything less. Why don't you paint it what you want and sew yourself some simple off-white canvas slipcovers for the cushions and use lengths of it to cover the back and sides, the finished cushions will make it look very classy! Then it is neutral and you can dress it up and down.

Okay- let's talk bedding. I have spent hours searching (online and in stores) and I keep coming back to the RH bedding. So I went back to my store today. They were out of about half of what I needed and wanted so I ordered it (w/ free shipping) and I should have it ALL by the end of the week. Here is what I decided on. 1 King Duvet Cover in the 18th Century Medallion (in link above.) Pacific, so it does have a hint of blue. 2 Matelasse King Euro Shams in Fog (also linked above) 2 Lumbar "accent pillows" in cashmere.. one for each sham. I brought home 2 colors- a gray and an icy blue and need to choose. 1 Matelasse coverlet to act as a blanket- will be between the duvet cover and sheets. ***bought in Eucalyptus which is an icy blue color. The salesman talked me into this and I an really second guessing this for 2 reasons. #1- $179 is a LOT of money for a blanket that might not been seen. I could find a blanket at HomeGoods for $39 that would be fine. #2- *if* I stick w/ it, should I exchange it for Fog (color) so it matches the shams?? I really like the pop of color, but let's say, in the summer time, I decide to let the coverlet show more... wouldn't I want it to match the shams? Or am I trying to be too matchy-matchy??? (a problem of mine.) Wdyt??? Solid choices? I do need to get a king, light weight duvet on order. Any recs? When you say a wide band all the way around, do you mean top and bottom of the panel, also? I will need about 2 inches to have the panels meet (when closed) with a little gather of the rings/fabric at the rod. Would 3 inches of band on each side of the panel be enough, do you think? Or should I go a bit more? But as per your suggestion, solid banding it is--Thank you! Light terracotta for the headboard -- it doesn't matter if the color of the fabric on the headboard is not the color of the coverlet? As long as the color is in the same family, right? What is the general guideline about a tailored bed skirt, same color family but different shade OK? I'm having a heck of a time when it comes to the colors Terracotta/Rust. Everyone has a different hue/shade of the color. Haven't been able to find any two that even come close so far but I'll keep looking for that special pillow I want to make. On the same thought, if I go with the Blue Banding on the panels, what if I have the same trouble finding the exact blue as in the window panel fabric? The blue is not blue-blue but has what seems like a bit of green. Not enough to make it aqua but enough. This is going to be a tuffy. *smile* As for the shams, oh how I would love to make matching shams (I'd have to read up on Welting 101 but I'd do it!) but I don't think I'll have enough fabric----eeeek! Unless I do the panels with a different color at the top and the print 3/4 the rest of the way. But that would bring me back to trying to figure out more color coordinating combos. Why oh why couldn't I have been born with even a tad of decorating gene *grrrrr* As for the dark bark green bed -- I love how it's turning out as long as the room's lights are on or at dusk. With natural light coming in the window each post, each side of each post of the bed takes on a different color---- Another Eeeeek! I'm thinking about adding an antiquing on top of the dark green just to unify the dark bark green color all around. The antiquing would look ok in the turns of the posts, no? Don't mind the temp bedding or stuff on night stands. All temp until I figure out what I'm doing. Colors of Footboard Post and Wall just to left of post are the true colors. So I ask daughters this morning what they thought of the direction I was taking in the bedroom and one said "Mom, looks like you're going for a Bold Mediterranean Mother Earth thing". The other daughter nodded wildly in agreement. *sigh* I haven't seen that style listed in any decor book.

Patty cakes, Do you think that med. grey small lumbar pillows on the leather chairs would get 'lost'? I saw 2 on sale at JCP yesterday and almost got them but then thought that they might be too dark. IKEA has some nice charcoal throws but I really think that I'd like to try my hand at sewing a few. I get what you mean about not adding a 'color' to the rm. and I agree. I have checked out grey curtains but I have this weird fanatical thing about all of my curtains matching if they can be seen from another rm.! Will check out Parma's sexy rm! Jacy - That's exactly how RP looks w/ my white trim! I have a sickness you know. A paint sickness. I admit that I have a sample of PD. In my house it got a bit too purpley for me. There's an excellent episode of Find Your Style where they did a rm. in Hot Spring Stones (1 up from PD) and the accent wall PD. The accent colors were Silver Sage. It was beautiful! I saved that episode for a very longtime. There was also a woman who used to post here who did her bedroom exactly the way your thinking. Her sign on was Girlwithaspirin. Maybe you can do a google search and a pic will come up somewhere. Caroleoh - Yep - that's the rm. that was BT! It's such a small room that there are only so many angles that I can get pics of. I highly recommend BT!!!! Truly if I'd hadn't begun painting the rest of my downstairs such neutral but rich colors I would never have parted ways w/ BT but I just felt that it wasn't working w/ the whole overall concept that I was going w/ and that I really, really like alot. I can't wait to post finished pics of the downstairs. And I mean finished pics! 3 more pairs of curtains to buy (3 more to glue pom-poms on too), get DH to hang the DR chandelier - and maybe, just maybe, if my decorating piggy bank has enough money - get my big black and white print for the hallway.
