Georgysmom, I'm so glad to see I'm not alone! Sometimes I know it must seem that all we eat at my house is leftovers but I feel so much better knowing I'm not wasting food. I'm such an advocate that one of my sisters, who wouldn't eat anything leftover after two days, has bought a freezer and a Food Saver!

Taco-Rice Skillet and tapioca pudding

I had a skirt steak left in the freezer so I pulled it out last night and marinated it with cilantro, olive oil, garlic and lime juice. So I sliced it and fried it with onions, green peppers and tomatoes. Was going to put it over rice but we decided to have like fajitas.

I was home most of the day. I took my "big rig" out a couple of times and Izzi and I enjoyed the spring like day. I did get the spritz cookies baked today and also baked a lemon cake. This evening spent about an hour or so visiting Alyssa and she gave me the best birthday ever, she took her first few steps! For my supper after I came home I had a ham sandwich with horseradish sauce on it and a glass of milk.

Homemade beef vegetable soup. I've been sick the last three days and nothing but soup/broth sounded all that good.

Seniorgal, tapicoa sounds really good right now even though I'm stuffed! I just love that stuff!!

Sue, that sweet little Alyssa was just saving up those steps for your special day. Which reminds me, she has a special day coming up next month, right?

Jel48, hope you feel better soon. That beef veggie soup is sure to help. That's a long time to feel icky. Get well quick, girl!!!

Mashed potatoes, meat balls, and Prairie Woman's Onion Strings.

DD called this afternoon, and invited herself to dinner. Said she'd stop at the "soup lady's' on her way, but she felt like cannoli's for dessert.

The 'soup lady' is a woman with a tiny little shop, she mostly makes soups, but has a few other things as well. DD and DH had chicken pot pies, I had stuffed cabbage soup. I dashed over to the cannoli bakery--a cute little old man and his wife are open just Friday evening and Sat. morning--and got tiramisu cannolis for DD and I, and a chocolate one for DH.

It was a nice dinner, all the nicer because DD was there to share it with us.

We had meatloaf too!!

I made a pot of creamy potato soup, with lots of carrots, celery, and onions. Sliced up some smoked sausage rounds to put in it, too.
