Do you listen to podcasts? What's your favorite?

I love "This American Life."

I need to add a couple more podcasts for my on-the-road time.

I listen to "Fresh Air" occasionally, but I frequently wish they would edit them a bit more -- the few I've heard so far have been a little boring!

So what do you like in the podcasting world?

I love the ones you mentioned and almost all from NPR. I recently discovered The Moth which is people telling stories of something that happened in their life. There was a great one recently about a mom who discovered a very inappropriate email sent to her daughter by a guy the daughter knew. It was kind of funny -- the mom's horror, then how to tell her daughter she had snooped in her email, then confronting the kid who sent it. It was told in a half-joking manner until the end when it was quite poignant.

I recommend The Moth.

The only thing I don't like about Fresh Air is how they have to promote all their sponsors before they get to the conversation.

Like terriks, I also listen to NPR stuff that I missed. Also, many big public libraries have author events that you can listen to as podcasts. I listen to authors whose work I also like reading, like Michael Cunningham, Paul Auster, Mary Gordon, etc. Listening to the authors discuss their work is interesting for me. The Philadelphia Free Library has a good author series with easy to listen to podcasts but I think the New York Public library and the Los Angeles Library do the same thing.

I will have to listen more carefully next time. When my son was six, his class made a cookbook. They wrote out their favorite recipes. One little boy wrote that you know when to flip the pancakes when they start saying "puh, puh, puh," and you know what? He was right.

LOL. My first reaction was just like Joyful's! Nothing, I'm sleeping! I'm like a couple of others here, the noise in my ears is plenty. But my noise is mostly like the Cicadas sound in the summer. But it doesn't keep me awake. I prefer quiet to sleep, no TV or radio, that would bother me more than the Tinnitus does. There is very little outside noise in this neighborhood to bother anyone. Very few cars passing. The Tinnitus doesn't usually bother me much. I guess I've gotten used to it over the years, my very own 'built in' white noise. Occasionally it will be loud enough, or annoying enough, to give me a headache, and even more occasionally, it will go away, or be so low it is almost unnoticeable. Rusty

gs-I saw GVF in a smaller theater venue last month-and I just know that the next time they come to my town they're going to be in a much bigger venue. I'll pay the price for their tickets-I just love them. I was thrilled to see so many over 50's in attendance. Have you heard The Struts? They opened for the Foo Fighters this past tour and just released their 2nd album. Got to do a M&G with them this summer, also. They're very fun.

I mostly listen to tech related ones like TWIT this week in tech

Oh yes! One of the episodes of "This American Life" -- stories about cheating, cheaters and the thin line next to cheating -- had a piece read by James Braley of the Moth. I think it might be up on his Web site. Very funny, and I love his delivery.

Going back to iTunes to snag the Moth! Thanks for reminding me!
