Good thoughts and prayers please

Hi everyone. I know I don't post very often but I was wondering if you could spare a good thought or two for my little brother. He was diagnosed with Crohns Disease about 7 yrs ago. He has been in and out of the hospital for the last 3 yrs, last year he had his colon removed and now has a colostomy bag. They thought that after having that surgery he would be pretty much back to normal. Well that isn't the case, there just seems to be one infection after another, and now he has been diagnosed as being bi-polar and has been very depressed about his health. He is only 27 yrs old and this is really starting to take a toll on him. He stays home all day with his 2 yr old and 4 month old daughters while his wife works full time and I think he is about at the end of his rope and tired of worrying about what's gonna happen next. So, please if you would include him and his family in your prayers, they could really use them. Thank you all so much!

So sorry to hear of your little brother's many health problems. He and his loved ones will be in my thoughts and prayers.

A friend of mine has a sister with Crohns. She too has one thing after another it seems, but does have some longer periods of time in there occasionally when she is not in the hospital with some emergency, but she is in her seventies and had it for a very long time. Her infections are usually 'line' infections, and not all hospitals can deal with them right. I hope/pray he has a good doctor, or can find one if need be.

Dearest Lynne, I too lost my Sister to ALS. It is a horrible thing to witness I know. When I say "I feel your pain" I truely do. She was my mentor, my confidant, and also best friend. She was young too just 46 when she was finally released from the bondage of a nonfunctioning body. We last communicated with her only being able to blink her eyes. I think of her daily though she has been gone for nearly 18 years. She is in my heart and my thoughts and my prayers. There is little that I can say to comfort you as I am the worst with knowing just the right thing to say. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers and find comfort in the happy memories of better days with her and knowing that she is not suffering. OMG, I love the 'rack'! It very much relieved my compressed nerve pain. I had to adjust my rear view mirror every time I left my chiro! Peppi, keep us informed....we care. My husband opted for surgery when sciatica struck a blow. He was home the same day, walking around with comfort. His surgical wound was kept covered with a 2x3 piece of gauze! I hope that you have access to modern surgical procedures....which can be a much better option than injections.

I'll certainly send some special thoughts his way. My MIL has Crohn's disease also, but hers msut be fairly mild or under control. I believe stress can aggrevate the situation? I hope he is able to find some relief asap!!

please let him know how much people do care about him...the fact that he's caring for 2 small children we all can relate to...while he'll always have this cronic disease and depression, with meds and counseling, he can live a productive life. i have to give kudos to his wife...she, too, needs tons of encouragement for taking on the role of caregiver...if he has a computer, have him post...

I hope that it may be possible for him to join us here on KT - sometimes an outside connection without needing to dress the kids and pack up for them is helpful.

Well, thanks again everyone!! I sent a KT link to my brother and he came and read everyones posts and said "wow, its awesome to know that people that have never even met me are praying for and thinking about me" I told him what a bunch of nice people are here and he is gonna join us!! So, when he does, feel free to pick on him it makes him feel loved!! LOL I've been doing it for years!
