I am so sorry,Trish! I Pray that your memories of him with bring you cmmfort. He certainly was a handsome, well loved man!!

I'm trying to figure out why I'm so sad. Usually, I just go with the flow -- going through life with alot of ups and downs. been through hubby's devestating accident, been through breast cancer, been through betrayal by friends, been through the loss of a beloved pet, been through the loss of my father, been through what all of you have been through. all the stupid crap that we think means something. but never anything like this.

It really does hurt to lose a really close loved one, Trish.

Sometimes when we've been through several trials, and seem to have dealt with them adequately, along comes one that, had we considered it from outside, wouldn't seem so much worse than the others, but it almost seems as though some residue from the others comes sneaking back to add a lot of extra freight to the load that one is carrying at one such later occasion.

May you find grace sufficient to see this through during these days, and to work the grieving through as time goes along.

Sometimes we feel almost as though someone had cut off one leg, when we lose someone so dear to us.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Trish, my hubby and I have been exactly where you are. We both lost sisters to cancer while standing by their side. It is very hard. In time you will remember the wonderful things he did that made everyone laugh. It takes time to get there. Don't feel bad for feeling the way you do right now. You loved him dearly and he is gone..

I will be thinking of you and praying for you in the coming days. He will be watching from above.

I was so lucky to have the most wonderful FIL in the world. I know he is watching me everyday. I almost feel like I can feel him patting me on the back sometimes. Sometimes when I am thinking of him I stand still and close my eyes. I know I can feel him touch me and say, "Great Job, Susie." He will always be in my life til the day I join him...

That is worth so much!!

I'm so sorry for your hearthache, Trish. I think this was such a blow to you because your brother was young and the cancer hit hard and fast, with almost no time for hope for healing. I'm sure it's like being slammed over the head (heart,) and it will probably take time to work your mind through it. I hope you're able to talk about him lots; sometimes friends don't know what to say, but are happy when you take the lead. Sounds like you have a tight family, for which your are fortunate. I'm thinking of you and praying you find peace.

Billy looked like a great guy, Trish, full of life and love. That's why you are sad--it doesn't seem fair. I think watching a parent die is difficult, but they have usually lived a good, long life. Watching someone in the prime of their life, who is close to your own age and whom you love, is very difficult. I hope that you can have peace knowing that Billy is no longer suffering.

What a fun guy he seemed to be, and so interesting. I know that his passing is leaving a huge hole in your family, Trish, I am so sorry. I lost a sister 25 years ago and while at times it seems to be so long ago at other times it feels like I just heard her voice yesterday.

Awwwwwww I feel your pain. He certainly left a legacy of love and friendship and music. You can see how he loved his friends and family in the pictures on his site. Of course you've come undone. Nothing can replace a sibling. You both shared the same family experience and humor as well as the bad times. Delve in to those memories and grieve and when you're done, go on and live life large like he did. He will love that.

so sorry for the loss of your hubby. I missed your post. what did he die from? how old? I'm sooooo sorry.

I can't believe that I'v been coming to The Kitchen Table for 10+ years. And we all never met each other. if I tried to explain this to anyone, they wouldn't believe how much I look forward to your posts when something major happens in my life.
I love you guys. It's a strange thing to me how I love you all so much, but never met you.
I think we are all in the same boat in this life of ours.
and we all feel the same.

I could have you all here. you would get a flight into Islip McArthur. I think it would be great. We have one life here on this earth. April 15th is a Friday. Billy was on the Cole, the ship that was attacked? He said it ws horrible -- that there was fire everwhere but he got all his guys out

while i miss my half sister...i just think about her and smile...she was a school teacher for kindergarten and pretty much treated us all the same way..lol...
