Teresa, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you celebrate all weekend, and that your boys do something wonderful for you. You know, I was told that when you are over 50, it takes three days to celebrate: One to get ready to celebrate, one to celebrate, and one to recover. If you reach 60, just take the whole week off! Thanks to everyone for the nice birthday wishes! I've heard from family and friends and opened some presents this morning. My boys are taking me out for dinner sometime soon and they spent several hours trimming my shrubs for me - that is what I told them I wanted for my birthday! LOL! This evening I will bake some breads in prep for the farmers' market tomorrow at early o'clock. So it is life as usual around here, but that's o.k. "Another year older and deeper in debt; St. Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store." Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! We did start Saturday evening with dinner out with my two sons and my mom. This was after my boys helped me with some yard work. Tonight I'm going to my mom's for dinner and next week, I'll go out to dinner with some friends from work (too much going on to go this week). Then next month, a lovely birthday present for me, my mom and my youngest sister (we all have b'days in Sept.): a 4-day trip to Key West, FL compliments of my BIL and middle sister! Thank you all for the warm birthday wishes! I've had a good day although it is very hectic at work. My mom and older son came to dinner Sunday night for take-out Chinese. Younger son was at a fishing tournament.

Tomorrow I'm leaving for the NC mountains for a long weekend of quilting. It's supposed to rain most of the time, which won't bother us as we mostly sew the whole time.

Teresa - who is trying to hold at 59 (which she passed a few years ago!)

I passed 59 a couple of years ago myself, but am still holding on! Hope you are having a great celebration in NC. I think quilting during the rain sounds very romantic and a great activity. BTW, my mother was going to name me Teresa if I had been a girl, and so I've always loved the name!
