Just saw this one on Pinterest.

2 ingredient lemon bars..

box of angel food cake mix and a can of lemon pie filling... Mix them together and bake in a 9x13 cake pan at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

As they are cooling, you can sprinkle with powder sugar if you wish (Which I guess technically makes this a 3-ingredient recipe).

The following are for bar types of cookies because I think they're easier and faster. CHOCOLATE MARBLE SQUARES 1 C + 2 T. flour Â½ t. baking soda Â½ t. salt Â½ C. (1 stick) soft butter 6 T. white sugar 6 T. firmly packed brown sugar Â½ t. vanilla Â¼ t. water 1 egg Â½ C. chopped nuts 1 6 oz pkg chocolate chips Combine the dry ingredients. Set aside. Combine butter, both sugars, vanilla, and water. Beat until creamy. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture and beat well. Stir in nuts. Spread in a greased 9 x 13 in. pan. Sprinkle with the chips and bake at 375 for 1 minute. Remove from oven and run a knife through the mixture to marbelize the dough. Some chips will melt; some wonÂt. Return to oven and bake for 12-15 minutes longer. (ItÂll get tannish and look a teensy bit darker along the edges. Cool in the pan and cut into squares. Makes 24 decent sized ones. TOFFEE BARS This recipe needs to be made several days before eating.) 1 C. butter, softened 1 C. sugar (white) 2 C. sifted flour 1 egg, separated 1 tsp. vanilla Â½ C. finely chopped walnuts (or other decorations if nuts are a problem). Preheat oven to 275. Cream butter and sugar. Beat in the flour, egg yolk, and vanilla. Beat well. Spread (youÂll need to use your hands) in the bottom of a well greased 15 Â½ x 101/2 jelly roll pan. (I think theyÂre called half sheets.) Brush the top with the egg white. Sprinkle and then pat in thefinely chopped nuts. (You can use any kind of sprinkle instead of nuts.) Bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Immediately cut into about 50 bars and remove from the baking sheet. Cool on a rack and store tightly covered for 3 days before eating. RASPBERRY BARS This recipe is one I found on this forum (I'm so sorry--I can't find whose it was and used the Search function but it didn't help to find the original poster and recipe.) I changed the recipe by using a larger pan and also sprinkled it with nuts instead of pieces of dough. Below is what I did. RASPBERRY BARS 2 Â½ C. flour 1 C. sugar 1 C. chopped pecans or walnuts 1 C. butter, softened 1 egg 1 10 oz. jar raspberry preserves Grease a jelly roll pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine all of the ingredients except the preserves. Beat until itÂs combined well and press the mixture into the jelly roll pan. Spread the raspberry preserves to about 1/3 inch from the edges. Bake for 30-50 minutes or till the edges are light tan color. Cool completely and cut into bars. Mazel Tov!

A while back Annie posted her blueberry crisp recipe. I make it routinely. Any berries can be used and you can use as many berries as you want. Easy and good! BLUEBERRY CRISP This is the only blueberry crisp recipe I've ever used, the one my grandmother used. It's not very sweet, which I like because I like the flavor of the berries better than the flavor of the sugar, LOL. It's really good warm with vanilla ice cream, but it's also good cold for breakfast (it's a FRUIT, Mom). 3 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen, unsweetened 2 Tablespoons lemon juice 1/3 cup butter, softened 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup quick rolled oats 2/3 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup flour Heat oven to 375 degrees. Arrange berries in ungreased 8" square baking dish and sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine remaining ingredients until crumbly. (I use a pastry blender). Crumble topping over berries and bake until topping is lightly browned and berries are hot, about 30 minutes. Makes 4-6 servings. I double this and it still comes out good. Plus blueberries are low in calories, have lots of fiber and no fat, contain antioxidants C, E and beta carotene and have been found to be as helpful in urinary tract health as cranberries. Got 4 gift packages in the mail yesterday. They should arrive tomorrow. This was really fun. After looking at the goodies though I decided something from the oven was needed. So, made a quick batch of Palmiers using Pepperidge Farms. I took my time, pinched the ends well & was fussy about spreading the tops evenly. They came out beautiful perfect hearts. It was a last minute thing just before DH left to get them mailed so didn't get pictures. Here's the other gifts though... Preserved Lemons, Citrus Salt, Homemade Vanilla, & Grand Marnier Fig-Walnut Butter I'm so pleased with the Preserved Lemons. They have bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, red chili peppers, whole peppercorns, corriander seeds, whole cloves, & Kosher salt. After 30+ days they smell heavenly. I'm going to preserve blood oranges this way when they're available. "Tamaya Blue" & Blueberry Muffin Mix, World Peace Marinated Olives, & Spicy White Wine Whole-Grain Mustard The "Tamaya Blue" is a special roasted before milling blue cornmeal from Pueblo Santa Ana & I used our food storage freeze-dried blueberries, organic powdered eggs, butter, & milk. They're "Just Add Water". The olives have orange & rosemary plus peppercorns. I'll wait until just before Christmas to put the baskets together that will be given from under our tree. All in all, this was more fun than baking all the cookies, probably because it was different for me. I think I'll start planning next year's gifts soon. /tricia

Sweetened condensed milk--what can I do with it?

I have been known to mix sweetened condensed milk with unsweetened cocoa powder to make my own spread, like Nutella. (Well, no actually, I haven't been known to do that, as I did it secretly and then ate it off a spoon) I've made Dolce de Leche in the can, in a pressure cooker. I put a few inches of water in the pressure cooker to make sure it won't boil away, and then put whole unopened cans of sweetened condensed milk in, and cook for an hour or two. Be careful to let the whole pressure cooker cool down for quite a while before opening, because you don't want the cans suddenly contacting ambient air while they are still above normal heat / pressure inside. The first time I made it, I think I did it for over an hour, and it came out brown and delicious and caramelly, but the second time i must have skimped on the time or the pressure, because it didn't get brown or caramelly at all, just thicker around the edges of the can. I made three cans at a time, thinking it was a waste to run the stove that long for one little can. But the one that sat on the shelf for a month or two before opening had crystals throughout, not the nice smooth texture. An Indian friend of mine was told how to fake Indian sweets by her mother. Mix as much dried shredded coconut into sweetened condensed milk as you can, form it into balls, and roll in powdered sugar.

I guess I'm pretty stupid. I have never heard of a can of lemon pie filling. Could you use a box of lemon pie mix, already made up and cooled? I love lemon things.

I would add a 4th ingredient... coconuts flakes/shredded/grated.

Sounds very similar to a dump cake doesn't it?
This one intrigues me more than the peach dump cake, we find it far too sweet.

Like Ivamae, I've never seen nor heard of a can of lemon filling.

The lemon pie filling they are using is the lemon meringue pie filling you would buy. They also have key lime filling. If you had to use a pudding use the lemon meringue one. I can't say if it will work though. Look in the dollar stores for lemon filling. Dollar tree has it.

I have mine in the oven, mine was just a can of Mussleman's Lemon Pie filling. It is taking longer than 20 minutes in my oven. I like the idea of the 9 x 13 pan rather than a jelly roll pan as this should be refrigerated I think and the 9 x 13 pan takes up less room in the refrigerator.

Don't usually use box cake mixes. Angel food cake is the only one I like so I just might try this. It looks so easy. But I must say, Ina Garten's lemon bars are really, really good.

Just made a batch to give some friends. Boy are they good!!!

Love easy recipes like this. I used a can of Comstock Lemon filling.

They'd be really good if you liked the pan with whole grahams, I think.

I don't think mine was light and airy, it was more chewy and I baked it for 40 or 45 minutes and it still sank when I took it out. The flavor was good though.

Mine was very lemony--don't think you'd need zest. And they were light and spongy like sponge cake. I used the 13 X 9 pan, and baked them until they just started to turn golden--think it may have been 25-30 minutes.

Be sure to line your pan with parchment or foil, because angelfood WILL stick (you can't grease the pan, of course). I put a strip of parchment in the bottom of the pan that extended up the ends so I could lift the whole thing out, once they were cooled (just had to run a knife down the sides).

An update--Gave most of them to my neighbor. She called first thing this morning--saying, "All my lemon bars are gone" She didn't even get any! She wanted the recipe so she could make a batch, too.

Haven't tried this....think I'd better as I like lemon as y'all do!

Something else you might want to try, if you haven't already.....20 oz can crushed pineapple, juice & all. 1 angel food cake mix. Stir just til mixed. Bake in an UNgreased 9x12 metal cake pan per cake directions. It is SOOOO good. I'm not a huge fan of pineapple, but I can sure put this away. Enjoy :-)

I have used the pineapple recipe in the past and always liked it. however I didn't like this recipe at all...tasted like baked lemon flavored meringues...not a fan....

Number of years ago, I tried the angel food with pumpkin and did not care for it at all.

Pumpkin Angel Food Cake
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 16 ounce) box 1-step Angel Food Cake Mix
14 tablespoons Cool Whip Lite

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl combine the pumpkin, vanilla extract, cinnamon and spices. Mix well and set aside.

In another bowl prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions. Fold the pumpkin mixture into the cake batter. Spoon into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan.

Bake for 38-44 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Remove pan from oven and turn upside down to cool.

Slice cake into 14 slices and serve with 1 tablespoon Cool Whip. -

I've never made an angel food cake, mix or otherwise. Am I understanding this right....just the dry cake mix and lemon pie filling? Sorry to be so dumb.
