Gorgeous fireplace, just gorgeous and the focal point of the room. I understand the desire to keep them all three the same color but I would not go that route. I would keep the ceilings simply ceiling white. That fireplace needs to be anchored in the room with the correct shade of paint. Can you get the lightest stone in there and match the shade to it? I have acadia white trim in my home and LOVE it. It is a nice contract to my white Anderson windows-shows creamy but not yellow. As for the colors of white dove and dove wing, I don't really see them in the fireplace at all. (again looking at a picture). I would paint the cathedral ceiling and walls the same color. but different than the trim. I envision primitive country as creamy and not white. What are your woods in these rooms? Cloud white is nice with dove wing. I think OC127 white chocolate could work. Can you repost a picture of the paint wheel against the fireplace? I alos did my laundry in ancient ivory 133 with the acadia white trim.

Thank you for the compliment! That fireplace was a real labor of love for us. My DH, a Mason, actually built the house around it, LOL. Really looking forward to finally getting to light a fire.

Below is a link to a hard wood floor that looks very much like what I have planned for our home. That is the shade. This flooring will run throughout the entire house, minus the bathrooms.

I have some large, wooden antique pieces of furniture that are pretty much that same shade as well that will occupy a spot in this large area.

I will be getting new furniture, so I have nothing much else I need to worry about matching other than the fireplace.

Matching the lightest stone is a possibility. I always envisioned a white.....but we'll see what I can come up with.

I will also take a pic of the color strips against the stone.

oh my, those floors.....totally perfection and with that fireplace. I just still don't see the white here, what color is the grout? I think creamy is totally the answer here but then again it is your house. Just make it all flow and it will be gorgeous. I can see the cabients being white for sure so go for that but not the walls....

I agonized over whites again yesterday. I tool a gazillion photos and they didn't turn out real well unfortunately. But I will post them anyway.......

In this one you can see the White Dove and i'm holding the color swatch up against probably the lightest stone on the fireplace....

Still considering the White Dove for trim and definitely kitchen cabs.

Think i've decided against Dove Wing for big room w/ fireplace now. LOL

What about BM White Down or Feather Down??

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of those with the fireplace but will try maybe later today. They seem slightly "beige-y" to me and would contrast well with white trim, but not sure about the White Dove?? Could it be too grey to go with the White Down for Feather Down?

Oh heck. My head is starting to spin. LOL

DH still prefers a really white, white for in the big room. I think it will feel too cold. He thinks it won't allow enough "pop" for the fireplace if it's too matchy, but I really don't think we need to worry about the fireplace blending in and disappearing, LOL. What do you think?

I can appreciate your (or is it DH's?) desire to have a white room to house that large stone fireplace. It sounds very good to me, in fact - a lovely Scandinavian-country look. I really like the idea of a nearly-white in that room - it won't look cold! not with that behemoth of a firebox in the room. LOL!

If you like the White Dove for the woodwork, it looks good. For the walls, if you're amenable to other brands, I would suggest Farrow and Ball's "Strong White". I have this colour in my living and dining areas and it looks like cashmere on the walls - just regular undyed, cashmere. A definite white with a little bit grey, a bit green, a bit tan, but only enough to keep that white from being blinding. Strong White's my preference for your room. It will "go" with the white dove as well as with the tan of the stone.

Another (set of) suggestions are from Donald Kaufman. I have DK-24 (in a bedroom) and I love it. It is basically a white with some green, blue and lilac / tan to it. I have it in north-facing room and it reads quite like a blue-green tinted white - once again just enough to knock the blindingness out of the white. This would be even more of a scandinavian-country touch to your room with the great big stone fireplace. Other nice whites from DK are DK-4,5 and 6 the last of which has a noticeable amount of green to it. So not a green colour per se, but a green-shaded White.

Alternatively, if you're really bound for a deeper colour in the white-ish territory, I'd suggest F&B's Off-White or Shaded White. Both are gorgeous, definitely deeper colours but both also come across as whites-in-shade if you get what I mean ;-) And I think they'd go swimmingly well with that stone fireplace.
