Pennsylvania Rifle #2

Had a few minutes to spare so I put it in tonight, for viewing on Sunday.

Here is the Grand Daddy of the mini Pennsylvania Rifle.

This brought home the meat for Dinner.

The Stock is made from the same 120 year old Tiger Stripe Maple.

It was asked were how I acquired the Maple.

In the 70Âs I bought out all the Wood, German Workbenches and tools,

from a Furniture MakerÂs son.

His father had passed away and he was no longer going to make Furniture.

All the other Parts were hand fabricated , including the barrel. ( 42 inches long )

The only parts I bought were the Lock and Trigger Guard,

Only because I wanted them Engraved. by DixonÂs Muzzleloaders of Pa.

I did the engraving on the Patch Box and all other places..

Thimbles for the Pushrod are usually 2 inches long., 3 pieces.

Usually !!! But being unusual , I made it one piece, from front to back.,

using Brass tubing.

Scalloped in between the Thimbles.

Not too much Ornate Scrollwork on the Stock, but enough.

A couple of Acorns and Oak Leaves on the forestock.
