I just called my insurance company to find out how much adding Alex to my car insurance would be. I don't have to put him on until he gets his intermediate driver's license, which is 6 months from the time he gets his learner's permit! He'll be 16 tomorrow, we have the booklet for him to study. Made my day that I wouldn't have to put him on for another six months!!! I was really dreading that.

Yay for you. Has he taken driver's ed? It helps on the cost of insurance, or at least it used to.

If he gets good grades that will help on your premiums too.

I so agee it is a part of my daily routine. I wake use the bathroom kiss dh hello and then I go out onto the swing on the porch (dh did this for me) and spend about 30 minutes outside waking up. I love seeing the flowers and listening to the birds and watching the birds. In the middle of summer I see the finches trying to "steal" the seeds right off of the zinnia flower heads. Paula

Before and After Lawn My house sits on top of limestone rubbles. I have to admit that I bought worms from worm grower somewhere and put worms in various spots 2 years ago. Apparently, it worked. I have earthworms everywhere now. I had absolutely zero earthworm when I moved into the house in 2005. Here's what I think helped the most... Organic program. I use organic fertilizer. I have st augustine lawn where I mow at 4 inches. That probably made things much more favorable for worms. Ground is a lot cooler and stay moist longer. I water deeply every 2 weeks. Absolutely no chemical pesticide at all or at least use the least toxic possible if necessary. Not sure which product so you'd have to do a bit of researching. I mainly use beneficial nematodes for pest control. I think earthworms make a huge difference for improving soil. top 4 inches are very nice till you hit rocky part.

Oh too cool EMT. I'm sure your items will sell quickly. Your work is soo beautiful. I too am glad to have some of my work in my sister's Gallery. So far nothing has sold but she says "Rosie" (my horse) sure has a lot of interest. Maybe it will sale @ Christmas. I'm working on 2 more pieces as we speak. And another is rattling around in my head. It never STOPS... I just don't have enough hours in the day!!!! I'll post later on both or all 3 three if I can get the RATTLING to stop! LOL!!! LATER

Ruthieg, Olive Branch is on highway 78 between Tupelo and Memphis. Actually, between Holly Springs and Memphis. I live in Tupelo now, but was born in Prentiss County, and we used to pass through Saltillo on the way to Tupelo. Building boom going on there...doesn't look the same! A Toyota plant to manufacture the Prius car is being built between Tupelo and New Albany. Everyone is very excited about it.

No, he hasn't taken a driver's ed class. I asked about it at the DMV and they said they only knew about it through the school system. I have to ask Alex about that. He's a straight A student so that should help.

When you take drivers e3d, either through highy school or private driver training, theyt issue you a certificate. Your insurance company should be given the certificate. And if his grades in school are B or better, that will get a further discount.

Glad you got a 6 month reprieve Kath. I remember when we started shopping for car ins. for Brian when he turned 16. It's higher for boys, of course. But I kinda could guess why. The little dare devils. LOL

Well, Kathy - be ready for the shock of your life - I certainly was - added my 17-yr. old stepson to my policy, and OMG - it went up by $600/6 months (full coverage) in addition to what I already was paying for full coverage on my Tahoe. They said it was because he was driving a "sports" car - I didn't know a Grand AM was considered a sports car! If he ever has an accident, I know I will be happy, but for right now, I am in sticker shock!

Girls are really not much better although a few years ago they were much cheaper. My DD is not yet 21 but will be in two months and so far her premiums have not gone down. I really thought they would have by now. Hopefully soon. She's never had a ticket or accident of any type. She always received the good student discount. Hopefully, it'll go down soon. $600 for 6 months sounds like a lot but we only have liability for ours.

Try having two teen agers on your insurance.
It'll scare ya!

Alex has good grades and that'll save you a bunch of money.

IF you get him a car get him an older car; one which doesn't need full coverage and make him the primary driver. This will cost far less than just putting him on your vehicle.

Every semester/quarter fax the insurance his grades. They may (or may not) reduce your premiums each time. They do with Digger.
