I'd do all six of them. The blue and white together is gorgeous, along with your tree! It's like a winter wonderland in there!

I think I would do 4. 6 seems a bit crowded. Plus, if it were me and 4 looked good, I would return 2--I am all about saving money when I can.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I can't return as I bought the prints from an artist at a show and placed them in Pottery Barn frames.

In hindisght, I wish I had bought 3 vertical prints (for larger frames) and placed the frames the other way. For some reason, 3 appeals to me.

I'll try both 4 and 6...I can always use the others in my office. Just trying to avoid more holes in the wall:)

Three probably appeals to you because odd numbers of things are appealing! Your eyes are used to the three florals, which were easy on the eyes, because a trio is a comfortable grouping to look at.

I have a group of 4 small prints with a table under them. That seems to read as 5 & feels okay to me. Take the table away & it would feel wrong!

These prints of yours are quite large. 2 on that wall is plenty, but could you use one more on a wall in the same room? Then it may still read as a group of 3.

You also kind of have a trio going with the sofa, one pair of prints, and small chest, but I can see why you would be wondering about how 3 verticals, a stronger "3" would seem really right. In your shoes, I would probably be thinking that way too.

I know a lot of people say forget the odd number rule, but for me, even numbers hurt my eyes!

You have a very pretty room. Love your sofas and your artwork is lovely. So quiet and serene!

i think 6 will be too many for that space...

i wonder if you offset 3 or 4(or 5??)--how that would look-more of a staggered pattern rather than all straight in line. definitely try with paper patterns on wall rather than more holes!!
(tho i like the toothpaste tip-never heard that before!)

They don't look really heavy. Use the 3M wall hangers that don't ruin the wall.

To put the sizes into perspective, this might help...
The picture below shows the 3 prints I had. (and can still use:) My DH prefers the B&W, but in the end, it doesn't really matter to him.
I'm always changing up the pillows on sofas (kind of with the seasons)thought I was ready for a change in pics too.

The florals measure 22 x 22. (they look a little off-center in pic)

The 2 B&W prints on the wall now are 30w x 20h.

The 6 smaller ones are 24w x 16 high. They would pretty much fill the wall = width of the sofa. I think I'll try the 3m hooks as suggested (frames are actually a little heavy so hope they hold) I agree that if I were to do 6...or 4...that the bottom row would be lower than what's there now. Also, I would have them closer together (maybe 2''?) than the 3 floral prints.

I guess will be the only way to know for sure will be to try:)!

ooohhh, i missed the sizing in your previous post!!! i think i would hang all 6 lined up as on floor.
i prefer the prints over the florals too.
(i think the 3m hooks are strong up to .5 lbs, so they should hold i would think...)

I also missed that the prints that will go on the wall are smaller than the 2 shown. In that case, I think the 6 would look good, rather than the 4. I really like the new prints.

Yes-that's the look I'm going for. I really like how it looks...just didn't know if you need high ceilings for it to look nice. (I only have standard 8ft ceilings)

Decided to go ahead and hang the 6 prints today(might need to tweak a bit as slightly off)

I think I prefer the 6 smaller ones to the 2 larger.
DH prfers the 2 larger. (surprise, surprise, lol)

Do you find the 6 too cluttered? He thinks they are, but I think there's enough white that it doesn't look too busy.

I think it looks great! Makes a nice bold statement in a subtle way -- bold for the mass of them, yet subtle for the color -- yes I do love contrasts in decor and this is one type. I think it's the ideal finishing touch for your beautiful room. Good work!

So...I have another question now! The hallway/stairs to the 3rd floor faces the family room (stairrcase wall is opposite to the sofa under the windows)

I have the 2 brightly colored prints on that wall now (The wall that has still not been painted! It will be changing from yellow to white...or blue...or??)

Those 2 prints are by same artist as the 1 floral on the shelves.

Question is...Do I keep the 2 bright ones now on this wall or replace with the 2 larger B & W prints that are shown in the picture at the top of this post? (so that they would 'match' the 6 now on the back wall)

Is this too much of the same? The 2 B & W are just about the same size as the 2 bright prints. Whichever 2 are not used on this wall will be moved to my home office...

I'm torn on this one..help:)!!

I prefer the two larger ones, but hung lower. I think the six is too much three over three over three over three when you take into account the three back cushions and three seat cushions of the couch.

I would not replace the bright prints with the others if you decide to keep the six on the wall. Too much of the same thing in one space.

I would put the bright prints in the hallway where the round mirror is now, and let that track lighting highlight the art. Move the round mirror to the stairs where the two bright prints are.

I would also get rid of the white peonies in the floor vase by the ledge shelves. They are too short for the vase, and interrupt the flow of the shelves. Put the white peonies in the vase on the middle shelf, to fill some of the wall space gap there. Move the white vase to the corner on the left end of the couch, and fill with much taller plumed natural grasses or white birch branches.

Pull your mirrored cabinet forward more, and switch the lamp and the coral so the lamp is by the seating, not by the window.

Lovely room - just a few tweaks to pull it together.

I LOVE the six pictures over the sofa. I would remove the colorful art and replace them with the B&W. I would also remove the vase with flowers and add in more silver or mirrored items if you can find them. I vote for blue paint. Nice job.

Les917-I also thought about placing the white mirror where the 2 bright prints are now, however, I do have 2 other decorative mirrors on the wall opposite the 6 prints so could be mirror overkill in this space.(the fireplace is opposite the 6 prints-2 mirrors placed on both sides above cabinets)

kgibbins-The frames are from Pottery Barn. They're called Thin Metal Profile frames-I believe now Disc. on-line, but perhaps still available in some stores. I'm thinking of getting a few more myself...
The B&W prints are done by a Photographer, Allan Manus, from Montreal. I bought them at the 'One of a Kind Show'...great show for those of you living in Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago and NY areas. (It's held 2x/yr, Spring & pre-Christmas) and features works from various Artisans and Craftspeople. I love the show...so many wonderful things.

I had already removed the peonies and changed the white vase below the shelves in the hallway. I now have white twigs with glass flowers...here's the latest set-up
