We don't celebrate it at all. To me it's just a "Hallmark" holiday. Guess I should be happy candy makers, jewelers and florists have a thriving business on that day, but for me I don't think you need to have a special day to tell someone you love them. I've told the story before about how the last time I got Harry a card, he looked at it, thanked me and put it aside. I saved it and gave him the same card over and over, year after year. Same results every year--look, thank, set aside.

Just like any other day - we do not observe this "holiday". Our philosophy is that we treat each other like every day is valentine's day.

We don't celebrate, either, except that I send a card or something cute to my 8 yr old grandson. The local restaurants are packed on that day, no matter which day of the week.

We usually have a nice steak and shrimp with the wine. This year I'm going to find a place where I can get a good cheesecake for dessert. Since I'l going to have my 5 yr old grandson this weekend, I may have him help me make some valentine cookies for his mommy. He loves to help me cook and loves it when I call him Chef.

DH and I don't exchange gifts for Valentine's day. I refuse to pay inflated Valentine's day prices. I don't enjoy going out to dinner because of the crowds and again the inflated prices, plus I don't find it's very romantic. I usually cook something extra special. This year it will be lobster tail and a sinfully rich homemade chocolate cake.

I usually make heart-shaped meatloaf. My meatloaf has a red barbecue sauce so it fits in with the theme very nicely.

We sometimes go out to eat. Since V-Day is on a Tuesday and we work out that night, we'll probably just eat here. I may do a special meal on Monday night instead and set a nice table and make a decorative dessert.

I found some books the other day for the kids and a bike accessory for Dh. I'm wrapping those up. They'll enjoy the surprise.

We have never gone out to eat and for the past several years I celebrate with my children. We go to our church's annual catered Valentine's Supper. Usually husband refuses to go. He might go this year. I won't know until the last minute.

We don't do anything special. I am going to cook Lobster pot pie that I saw Ina do recently. I don't want flowers, I always tell hubby not to get flowers. We'll do a gift after Valentines. I want a Pandora bracelet but don't want him paying inflated prices just to give it to me on Valentines day. Every day should be Valentines is our philosophy.

DH & I bought a workout DVD to do together for Valentines Day! I will (haven't yet but will) get him a card that tells him how much I LOVE him too.

We send cards to the grandkids, kids & sibs too.

Just another day for me too. :( I send some cards. Today I picked out a card for a friend and decided to slip a Kit Kat candy bar into the envelope (slimmest candy bar I could find). But both card and candy bar are laying on the desk and I have a feeling that chocolate isn't leaving my house. hee hee

We don't do anything special. When the kids were little I would bake a cake and get them a little something.

I'll do the same starting next year with the granddaughter I'm getting in May.

I used to do a nice dinner at home. Now, I am not sure, what I will do that day. Prolly nothing special. But I might go and have dinner (take out) with a dear friend of mine. She is single too.
