I'm baaaaack!!!!!

And I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who sent me emails to check up on me. I tried to get back to you all and I apologise in advance if your email was skipped.

I've spent the last 6 months dealing with lots of family issues, thank Gd all is well now.

My biggest project and the one that kept me away from my online "life" was getting my mom and sister back on their feet after they lost everything in the Nashville floods.

Well, this week they moved back into their house and I feel like I've come home too.

You can see some of what I've been up to on this thread on the kitchens forum

And I haven't been totally gone, you just couldn't see me lurking :)

I made the three ingredient icecream, pickles and some other "hot" things happening over here but I also missed a lot.

I'm so happy to be back.

PS what's this Michigan trip I'm hearing all about? You guys better come back and tell all.

So good to have you back L2C46! And especially glad to hear your family is back in their home! How devastating that must have been.

I've thought about you often and wondered how your Mom and Sister were doing. I can only imagine how devastating it was to have just moved everything in and then have nothing.

I'm glad you're back and so happy to hear they are back in their home.

How does the rest of the neighborhood look?

Welcome back to participating on the CF.

Really good bud count on S Cherries and Cream. Here, an occasional plant will have good bud count, but in general, most plants have been stunted by the polar vortex weather. You garden also looks very free of weeds!

Thanks everyone. It's nice to know I was missed!LOL Cathy-don't know what was going on with the IM.My grands were on my computer all the time while I was gone.Don't know it they may have done something to cause it.Who knows.I have really missed you too.I was just thinking about you the other day and wishing I could chat with you. OK I have lots of pictures but I need to download them to my computer and as you all know I am illiterate in that department so it may take some time.LOL I will get some on as soon as possible. I have been feeling really crappy this week.I ended up going to the doctor Thursday with this abscess. My jaw was swollen about the size of my fist so I thought it was time to do something else because obviously the second antibiotic wasn't working either! LOL He lanced it and drained it and put in a drain tube, gave me an intravenous antibiotic and another antibiotic to take by mouth.I go back tomorrow to take out the drain then I guess we will see if they will be able to pull the tooth Tues. as planned.I'm thinking probably not because there is still a lump under the jaw bone about the size of a very small egg.I think it is maybe a cyst from the infection.I guess we will see tomorrow.Yall pray for me.This is getting old!LOL Will check back later..............Lillie

The stairs are a downstairs to basement. It's a walk out basement & there's a screen porch below the deck. We are planning on insulating the basement, but not finishing it so it will be a comfortable away space for the children. (Couch, TV, area rug, ping pong etc). If those stairs went up, I would think that suggestion brilliant. I'm seeing that as a command central type space, mail, bill paying, printer, charging, kids on computer that I can check on them easily but give them space for homework. And being able to close it off will enable me to not see the clutter that my family will leave there. :-)

I just posted about how nice the kitchen looks on you KF thread....and it really does!
I almost added a note to that saying, "I hope you can get back to the CF now" but was afraid that might be inappropriate.

Glad to have you back.

Hi L2C46! Thanks for bringing us up to date on your family's flood disaster. Like Lee, I've wondered how they were doing.
The kitchen looks really good and although they were on a tight budget, it doesn't look slapped together.

Well, it's about time, we've been waiting for you!

Well, actually, I asked Peppi how you were doing and we discussed you a little in your absence at the last Michigan get together. (grin) I'm glad things are well now, and your Mom and sister are settled back in, what a horrible way to start life in a new place.

Now, hurry up, you could make the get together. Day after tomorrow, better get cracking...

Thanks everyone. IT'S SO WONDERFUL to "hear" all your voices again. I did miss you

What a whirlwind the summer has been. I can't tell you how great it is to be back in a routine. School went back this week and I am trying to get my own home back in order.

Annie, I'd love to get together with y'all on Monday. Is anyone driving in from Chicago? Peppi, want to play hoookie and come with, assuming of course, that I am right and it's work keeping you away. I have a 9 am dentist appointment but weight dentist vs GW friends, well, hmmmm, it's tipped a long way to the latter.

How long is the drive?

Ah, well, if I miss this one, then maybe the next...

Peppi is going to be in Myrtle Beach with her Dad. It's 4 or 5 hours from Chicago...

The drive is probably 3 hours to my house and then another 2 to Lansing. You could come to my place and ride with us! We really have missed you and hoped things would get better for you all around so you could come out to play again.

Welcome back!!! I definitely wondered where you'd been and figured it had to do with your mom's house. I'm sure glad that things are all working out now. I'm really glad to see you posting again!!

Yippee, she's back!

I wish I could go but we are leaving for Myrtle Beach on Thursday, I have guests today and on Monday. Plus the doctor and work and a house to clean up and somewhere in there I have to pack.

Now, we only said nice things about you and how much we missed you. But go on Monday, and meet the gang. Sherry is right, it is 3 hours or less to her house from my door, so add a bit from yours. And if you can stay overnight (sorry Sherry!) you can check out the produce.

Heading over to Kitchens now to look.....

WOW! Great timing as Sherry and I were talking about you yesterday and how we missed you and hoped things were looking you for you and your family.

More later, Sherry is calling us to breakfast.

Love you,
Cathy

AHHH, IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK. I really did MISS you guys, I just couldn't juggle one more ball.

I really wish I could join you tomorrow, but my youngest started middle school last week (my babies are in Middle school?!?!) and they get home from school at 2:30. While I could get to you for lunch, there just isn't enough time to get back here in time for them and they are still too young to leave home alone for a few hours. They might just kill each other, jk.

Have a wonderful time, I can't wait to hear all about it.

Peppi, you and your Dad have a blast in Myrtle Beach. But what's this about the doctor? Hope all are OK.

Cathy, any chance you and Raymond are driving home through Chicago? I'd love to get together with you with if you are.

L2C, We are going back home via I-75 so Chicago isn't part of our itinerary! Ratz! There well be other trips to Chicago though.

Again, I'm glad that you are back!
