Now, my kids and DH will tell you it was the little, kids' roller coaster at Disneyland, but really it was a BIG one. I shocked myself by being terrified! And embarassed the others with my screaming & crying. I still shiver thinking about that ride.

A stupid movie DH and I watched yesterday called Last House on the Left.

Just a few minutes ago, I took my stepson to Waffle House for breakfast - when it came time to pay, my card was declined. I called the company and found out that someone in California tried to charge several hundred dollars at several locations - I live in Florida. Needless to say, the cc company's computer caught the attempted theft and canceled my card. I am still shaking!

My heart raced for at least an hour.
It had to be a 75 lb chunk.

Bear in mind, I live alone. Late one evening last month, I was watching TV and surfing the net in the living room when a loud crash came from the kitchen. I must have jumped three feet high and six feet across the floor before I realized it was the sack of non burnable trash in the pantry. It fell over and all those cans made one heck of a racket. I seriously reconsidered my recycling methods. lol

There have been some front door kick burglaries North of me and so it has been on my mind. Most of these are happening during the day. The perps apparently ring the bell first, to determine if anyone is home. Well, the other day, the doorbell rang and I was not all that quick to get to it, as I reached the foyer, someone was coming through the door! It was TG, who had accidentally hit the doorbell as he fumbled with his key. I could have killed him - my adrenalyn was pumped - I was totally in fight or flight mode. I'm not usually so jumpy and the front door is always locked (as it was this day.)

Someone coming down the bayou on a boat, no lights, firing a shotgun...that scared me. I couldn't call the sheriff dept., because I live so far from town, that by the time they did get out here, the boat was gone...and since it was dark and they had no lights on, I couldn't get a description.

My computer sits right by two double windows that look out on the bayou. It has crossed my mind that someone could
shoot me from the bayou, keep going, and no one would find out for at least two or three days...if I was home by myself, which I usually am.

Spiders, snakes, animals...no fear. I fear crazy people and idiots.

Today I was walking on a trail in the woods taking pics. I was thinking that I hadn't heard any birds or squirrels and I'd really like to see a rabbit to get a pic of it. I wondered if I'd see a moose (although I didn't see any tracks) when I heard a noise behind me.....turned around and there was a dog running towards me. I got a fright but laughed about it, could have been a moose! LOL

It was late at night, DH was at work and DD was in bed. Max woke out of a dead sleep and barked so loud I almost peed by pants LOL!

It was worse because he barked right into my face, and the house had been dead silent.

LOL.......the last thing to scare me was my husband about 1/2 hour ago. I was making a stir-fry for dinner & was 'lost in space' enjoying standing & stirring (cooking helps me de-stress) I feel a light poke in my back, whip around fast with my hand out & knock his cup of coffee all over him & the kitchen!! Yep....coffee covered hubby :~) Thank goodness he has a sense of humor. He works the 3rd shift & I hadn't heard him get up. Not the first time this has happened & I'm sure it won't be the last. :~)
My guys know my arms fly if I'm startled, so they usually stand back.

Snap, that'll learn him! LOL I hope he wasn't hurt.

The huge buck that ran out in front of my car 2 days ago! I don't know how it didn't get hit. I missed it and so did the cars coming from the opposite direction. It was lightning fast so maybe that helped it!

A couple of years ago, when my car got clobbered in a major intesection at the back wheel, just behind me (it was decided that I'd run a red light) ...

... about ten minutes later, son said that he couldn't believe how calm I was.

I said that it didn't appear that anyone was hurt, the firemen were cleaning up the coolant from the other guy's rad, what damage was done was done, that a wrecker was coming to tow my vehicle away, and that we'd soon be walking to his place.

I decided to repair that 20-year-old car, which I figure still has some useful miles in it, as the repairs would take some materials and quite a bit of labour ... but much less costly, energy-wise, plus in terms of pollutants and global warming, than, say, 20% of the amount required to mine the ore, smelt, roll, shape parts, build plastic parts, do all of that hauling and assembling to build and deliver a new vehicle.

Cost more than I'd paid for the car, less than a year earlier: my modest contribution to saving precious energy and reducing pollutants and global warming.

The stock market, bank closings, and white collar crime and these are still scareing me plus lack of employment.

I don't scare too easily, but learning that one of our daughter's had non hodgkins lymphoma, was upsetting and scary.

The white haired lady that tried to run my DH down on his motorcycle. She chose to run the stop sign but stopped in the middle of the road. She did not see him even after he rode on the other side of the street. She saw me and heard me. She was trying to make me a widow!

Mrsmarion reminds me of something that happened a few weeks ago. Near an intersection, on a busy highway, saw a Dalmatian dog laying in the street that had been hit by a car. Several people stopped...had their flashers on, trying to wave down traffic, but the dog could move just enough that no one could get to him. We stopped too, and my husband was on one side, the direction the dog was coming to. Everyone was slowing down or stopping, except one idiot sped right through, and hit the dog again. Still didn't kill it, but broke it's leg. It was so upsetting...I turned to look away....and had some very choice words for the idiot.

A knock on my door at 11:00 at night. When I called "who's there" no one answered. I peeked through the window and saw no one. In our town, this has been a new trick for burgulary. If they knock or ring the bell and no one answers, they assume no one is home and break in. If someone does answer, then they do a home invasion and just knock you over...or worse.

Last week, I heard something drop and my 7 yo cried out. I found ds laying on the futon with a 27" tv on his head. We just moved here a couple of weeks ago and are still getting things set up. Apparently, the tv was not set on the cart like it was supposed to and then ds pushed the cart back and the tv fell over on him. Scared the heck out of me.

A few years ago, when I blacked out in my car in a parking lot while calling 911, couldn't find the words to tell the operator where I was, then gradually stopped breathing.

I woke up to paramedics trying to get an airway into my mouth, and a bruised and sore chest from the CPR.

Yesterday, when I accidentally slammed the sliding van door on my husband's hand.

Somehow it didn't catch it enough to hurt it, even though I had to open the door for him to remove his hand. I kept checking it all day and night. What a scare!

Last night we had a fire in my highrise. I carried both cats (in one carrier) down 18 flights of stairs. They were heavy and my back is killing me. We are all safe though and that's all that matters.

A clap of thunder that was deafening and unexpected. Boy, compared to some of your experiences, I've been fortunate. There have been worse scares, but this was the last one and that was a several years ago.

Just went to see the new movie Shutter Island.....Lots of
scary moments and strange twists in it. At one scene, I had to cover my eyes----lol

Well, the last thig to scare me was when someone put five shots from a 357 magnum into my living room at 2:30 in the morning. The Police said they think they got the wrong house. Somehow, that was no comfort to me. Vique.

Have you ever heard a dog scream??!! My eleven pounder did last month when a pit bull got in my yard. The owners got here before I did probably because they were trying to catch her. By the time I got downstairs my dog was inside. But did he stay inside? Nope, he has a theory that he has to attack pitbulls so out he went again and the pitbull was trying to pin him down.

Luckily she's more on the gentle side and it looked as if she was trying to pin him down to keep him from attacking her neck. All the while my dog was screaming so loud yet he was doing most of the attacking.

There's another pitbull two houses up. The reddish type with red eyes and they used to tie him up next to the road, with the only a rope keeping him secured. I'm not sure what happened this weekend but as I drove by, the owner was tugging him back into the yard by the rope, and the older lady across the street had her little doggie under her armpit taking him home. From my car I could see her dog shaking. Unresponsible owners.
