I asked a stranger how old her grandson was in a checkout line this morning. Turns out he was 18 months old.
He was smiling, flirting and jabbering away to me and I have no idea what he was saying but he was a cutie.

To the librarian: Please put a hold on that for me. (For "The Book Thief," I'm next.)

"Okay, Thanks" to some church lady passing out some JW paper. Then it went in the trash.

To a young girl outside Wal*Mart:

I told a gal how to work the Kodak photo Machine at Wal-Mart, and then she asked "how will I get my memory card back"...all while the cashier ignored her.

"Do you have any bird balls?" I SWEAR! They grind up suet and birdseed at our grocery store and put 2 enormous balls of the blend into a package and sell them for about $4. Label on 'em says "Bird Balls". And yes, it cracks me up every time I buy them, which is about every 2 weeks. I keep thinking "those are the biggest dang birds." My little normal birds love to peck and dig at them, though, and they get much needed fat and protein during the colder months. Less messy than peanut butter.

Our offices close at 5:00 and I was still at my desk...it's a good thing we were still around.

A very nice couple I just met in Church. I really enjoyed visiting with them. He is very hard of hearing, but the wife is a very proper Lady and sweet.

In the check-out line at Wal-Mart yesterday, a little boy was doing a dance in front of us, and I laughed at his antics. His mother gave me a funny look because she hadn't seen what he was doing, and I grinned and told her he was adorable.

"If you do that again your parents will probably bbq you and eat you....little boys taste sooooo good with a salad and baked potato....that's what happened to my daughter's brother ya know." Told to a kindergarten boy who was being mean to another little girl.

To the waitress at Bennigan's at lunch. "No, I don't need any change." I left her a $4. tip on a $12. ticket b/c she could have been my daughter trying to work and make a living.

kickypants...you didn't! LOL, that sounds like something one of my uncles would have said to me when I was little!

Last thing I said was "I'm fine, thank you" to a stranger at the store as I was entering and he was exiting, he asked how I was doing

I was putting gas in my truck, and the guy next to me was starting to drive away, and had left his gas cap cover open.
I said, "You left your gas cap open. Do you want me to close it for you?" He said, "No, I'll get it, but thank you for telling me."

Walked by a guy washing/waxing his car last week & told him "Nice Job". He thanked me. I was going to ask him to come take care of my car while he was at, but since I didn't know the guy from Adam, I decided not to. :-)

A little girl was with her Mama and she was sinnnnnging up a storm as they were walking to the register at Wal-Mart. I told her that she sure had a pretty singing voice! Of course she got all shy then.

"I'll call you back. Bye."

To a telemarketer who called...sorry ai'm not interested in purchasing windows or doors at this time....

"I'm on your DO NOT CALL LIST!" to "unknown caller."

"Does your mother know you talk like that?" to an adult male who was giving the finger to another driver in a minor road rage incident. Ahhh, the mean streets of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania.

To a fellow shopper waiting in line...I told her her hair was very pretty and it was a beautiful haircut.

"I'm an architectural historian and I'd like to take a look at this building" to a man sitting insie a 1910s train station in West Virginia. It was a grand old prairie-style building that looked much as it did when last used for passenger service in the 1960s.

Hmmm, I think it was a family member of one of my patients who has been very annoying all day long. Something like, "sorry but the doctor hasn't ruled him out for _______, so we can't take him out of isolation and he can't eat yet because blah, blah, blah." This was an on-going conversation all day long. How many times do you have to repeat yourself? If you're a nurse, apparently a dozen times and it still doesn't sink in. So, then they ask someone else, like that's going to change the answer.

"Excuse me" as I brushed past a man standing in the aisle of a store.

i asked the appliance salesman if a particular refrigerator was in stock and when it would be available for delivery.

my son and DIL refrig died on sunday so i went out to buy them one today.

I went out for breakfast Sunday morning so besides saying Thank you and goodbye to the waitress I first said I will have 2 eggs over easy, crispy bacon, rye toast and coffee.

well, I ride the subways. And a bus.

So I say things to strangers all the time.

So, this morning I had a conversation w/ the couple behind me about the Subway Olympics, and whether the guy would take out 20 people if he fell over, bcs he was stuck in the center area by the doors where there is NOTHING to hold onto.

"I'm sorry but I don't want your credit card machine in my shop. This is the 5th call from your company this month and I will tell you the same thing I told the last 4 callers STOP CALLING US" CLICK

"Stay warm and be sure to come back" to a customer leaving my cold thrift shop. It was warmer outside than it was inside. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow.

My last name, as I was signing a package for dh this morning at the front door...he couldn't read my handwriting..(no one can)...He thanked me, I wished him a good day and shut the door!

I had to call Dell computers to order a new part. They asked for my SS# to join their free members club. Me, being the guarded person that I am, said, "Why do you need my SS# for a parts purchase? I feel uncomfortable giving that to you."

She stated she needed it for the Club so I could get discounts on parts, and it would serve as my ID. She said, "This is Dell...you know Dell". Needless to say, I didn't give it to her. She was in Thailand.

While it was probably legit, I find it unnecessary that they need it for part purchases. I'll pay full price!!

Just a few minutes ago to a man checking in....

Sorry Sir I dont have any rooms on Thursday night..there is a soccer tournament in town.

He: Your kidding in a small town like this your "completely" sold out?(with a look of dismay on his face)

Me: Yes.."completely"....(like i would lie about not having a room for him?)

I'm with Miss Kitty......I talk to strangers all day long and a LOT of them are VERY strange!!! The last words I said were "I'm sorry he is at lunch"and I was going to ask if I could take a message but the caller hung up on me.....huh??????

the last was this am at the grocery and it was a simple thanks to the clerk, today...

Maybe ran up while a light was red to tell a guy that his one brake light was out.

Or possibly a humourous comment to a person in the checkout line at the grocery.

Saturday,i said to a cop "i did" in answer to his question,"who called us".
My friend was visiting me and had parked her car across the street,some drunk driver came down the street and hit her brand new Honda Civic and broke the side mirror.

He did stop,so i have to give him that,but as soon as i realized he had been drinking,i called the cops.Glad i did,he was driving with no license,but thought it was ok because he had an expired Mexico license,of course he had no insurance either.So they impounded his truck ,hauled him off to jail,as this was his 2nd DUI.

Drunk Drivers infuriate me!!!

I said this to a new client, who called our office just at 5:00 to schedule a pest control service, when he asked me for an estimate. He didn't even cancel.
