no watching for us. Did you like Money Ball? I want to rent it!

I'm going to an AA party. Should be fun. We have a movie group that goes to the movies once a week when we can't play golf. That usually covers January, February and sometimes in March. We saw Hugo, The Artist, The Descendants, The Iron Lady, War Horse, Midnight and Paris, The Help. Tinker, Tyler Soldier Spy and various other movies that aren't up for nominations so Oscar night should be fun.

I'll be watching on a friend's big TV. This year I haven't seen any of the nominated movies, but that's okay. I can still get judgmental about the dresses and what the stars have to say. LOL

I'll watch the beginnng. Love Billy Crystal.

I can't wait!! I've been faithfully watching the Oscars since I was in university in the 80's. I don't watch the red carpet show, I don't enjoy that. I am so glad Billy Crystal is hosting, he is the best Oscar host ever!!

I've seen a few of the nominated movies:
The Descendants (not as good as I thought it would be, but still good)
Moneyball (don't know why it was nominated, I didn't think it was that great)
The Artist (an amazing movie, my pick for the winner)
The Help (loved it, it was true to the novel)
Tree of Life (couldn't finish it, too boring and weird)
Midnight in Paris (better than I was expecting since I don't like Owen Wilson and Woody Allen movies usually aren't my thing)
War Horse (really good, if The Artist doesn't win this will)

I'll be watching, I never miss it. Huge movie buffs here.

I'll watch although I channel surf during the parts that don't interest me such as the endless acceptance speeches from unknowns. I think Billy C is the best host ever and I know I will enjoy him.

I saw The Descendants and loved it. There are so many subplots. All the actors were great.

I adored Midnight in Paris although not Owen Wilson so much. I know it's mean to say but his crooked nose distracts me. I loved the cameo appearance by Carla Bruni (Sarkozy), and Kathy Bates as Gertrude Stein. I just loved every minute of the scenes shot in "old" Paris. God, I love that city.

I saw The Artist just last night. Didn't love it. It's an amazing concept though and spectacularly well done but as entertainment, it didn't grab me. It was predictable and too long. Even the dog wasn't as adorable as I had expected.

Loved Moneyball -- the story, the actors, all of it. Fascinating story and a great look at behind the scenes of baseball.

The Help -- hated the boo and refused to see the movie. I think I am the only one.

I haven't seen the others. I'd rather see the play of War Horse than the movie. I'll wait until they show up on On Demand before I see the others.

And of course I love the red carpet.

I love the red carpet with all the glitz and glamour. I am looking forward to Billy Crystal as host, especially his opening number. He's the best! I will switch over to Amazing Race and Celebrity Apprenctice when they start and flip back and forth between them.

I will watch. It's fun to see the celebrities and the beautiful gowns, no matter who wins.

For whatever reason I am watching the Oscar Red Carpet show with Ryan Seacrest. I have to say Guiliana Rancic has never looked lovelier.
She should wear her hair up all the time.
Looking forward to seeing the fashions, but not the awards.

Unfortunately the E show was boring so I switched back to ABC>

Have the red carpet show and it DVR'd. We were playing RISK up until a few minutes ago when Sola finally gave up so she could relax before getting ready for school tomorrow. We had game night for Alex's birthday but that was the only game we ended up playing because it takes forever to play. So, anyway, getting ready to watch it shortly.

Most of the fashions were just lovely - but am I the only one who thought Angelina Jolie looked emaciated? I know the press has been reporting this for a while.

I always think Angelina Jolie looks emaciated! But beautiful, too. I was thinking last night that her exposed leg looked awfully thin. I was also thinking it's a shame some fashion guru outlawed stockings/pantyhose several years ago, because they improve almost everyone's legs.

The only dress I actively disliked last night was Meryl Streep's. That's almost always the case. I wish she'd take a class a the Helen Mirren School of Fashion. :-)

I thought Angelina looked thinner than normal. I couldn't believe how thin and unheallthy her arms were. Her unnatural pose with the exposed leg was a little odd during her presentation. Not sure how funny she thought it was when the winners she announced mimicked her pose.

Meryl Streep looked like an oscar in her gold dress which turned out to be very appropriate.

I noticed there was a lot less jewelry worn. All in all I thought everyone looked great.

I give Billy Crystal an A++++ as Oscar host, he nailed it yet again!

Angelina looked like a skeleton, even her face was too thin. I don't know how she has the energy to play with her kids or take care of them. I didn't like her hair either or Gwenith Paltrow's hairdo. Awful.

I thought Jolie looked beautiful as usual and Paltrow was the winner in the dress competition. Always classy, those two.
